Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing arrives back from Republic of India

NAY PYI TAW, August 2

The Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who paid a goodwill visit to the Republic of India at the invitation of Chairman of Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air) and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa left Gaya by air this morning.

The Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by the Senior General was seen off at the airport by Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Thein Zaw and wife, Brig. Gen. Niranjan Kumar of Officers Training Academy (Gaya) and wife, Indian Military Attaché (Army) to Myanmar Col. Naveen Mahajan and officials.

The Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by the Senior General arrived back at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport this afternoon and was welcomed back by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw and wife, senior military offi cers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and wife, Deputy Head of the Indian Embassy to Myanmar Dr. Sumit Seth, Indian Military Attaché (Navy) to Myanmar Captain Manmeet Singh Khurana and officials.

Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, Lt-Gen ThanTun Oo from the Offi ce of the Commanderin-Chief (Army), Chief of Staff (Navy) Vice-Admiral Moe Aung, Chief of Staff (Air) Lt-Gen Tun Aung, senior military offi cers from the Offi ce of the Commander-in-Chief and offi cials who accompanied the Senior General also arrived back on the same flight.

During the visit to the Republic of India, the Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by the Senior General met with military and civilian leaders including Prime Minister of the Republic of India and Chairman of National Security Council H.E. Mr. Narendra Damodardas Modi to hold talk on promotion of relations between the two countries and on enhancement of cooperation between the two countries, observed development of industrial technologies and advancement of defence equipment production, visited training schools which provide training in the defence sector, and toured signifi cant places in India, and Buddhological sites in Varanasi and Gaya.
