Ceremony of releasing birds marks 75th Diamond Jubilee Armed Forces Day

The Myanmar Tatmadaw which conceived and was born in the period of independence struggle joined hands with the people in striving for regaining the independence.

After regaining the independence,the Tatmadaw has been serving the interest of the State and the citizens by upholding the perpetuation of the independence and sovereignty, non-disintegration of the Union and non-disintegration of national solidarity till the 75th Diamond Jubilee Armed Forces Day which falls on 27 March 2020, today.

A ceremony to release birds in commemoration of the noble 75th Diamond Jubilee Armed Forces Day took place at the Tatmadaw parade ground in Nay Pyi Taw this morning, attended by Commanderin-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla together with senior military officers and their wives to set birds free.

First, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut and wife, Union Minister for Defence Lt-Gen Sein Win and wife, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Ye Aung and wife, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San and wife and Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw and wife took the designated positions and released the birds.

Then, the Senior General and wife pressed the button to release 750 birds in commemoration of the 75th Diamond Jubilee Armed Forces Day.

The Tatmadaw is participating with might and main in the prevention and control of infectious Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) which breaks out all over the world.

Moreover, medicines and medical equipment supporting the treatment of the disease were provided to hospitals in border towns in respective military commands, and effective health awareness related to the disease is being raised. In addition, preparations are being made at hospitals in respective military command areas to be ready for giving necessary treatments to the patients if the disease breaks out. The 75th Diamond Jubilee Armed Forces Day Parade was postponed with responsibility and accountability on 1 March not to cause outbreak and infection of COVID-19 disease.
