Officers, other ranks of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), civilian substitute-appointed staff donate more cash from salaries generously for prevention, containment and treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19)

The government is beefing up prevention, containment and treatment for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) at the national level, and the Tatmadaw participates in such tasks with might and main. Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and senior military officers from major-generals to the above levels donated 25 percent of their one month salaries and officers and other ranks of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and civilian substitute-appointed staff, one day wage from their salaries, for the second time to be spent it on prevention, containment and treatment for Covid-19 disease. Their donations totalled Ks-2,159,568,721 (more than Ks-2.159 billion).

It was the second time cash donation of senior military officers, officers and other ranks of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and civilian substitute-appointed staff led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. They donated more than Ks-2.316 billion from their salaries of April for the first time. The donated cash was systematically allotted for donations of necessary medical supplies to people’s hospitals in respective military command areas, tasks of prevention, containment and treatment for Covid-19 disease and tasks of quarantine. Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and senior military officers from major-generals to the above levels will continuously donate 25 percent of one month salaries in six successive months.
