Families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) donate rice, edible oil, salt, gram to Sitagu International Vipassana Academy, Maha Thubawdayon Monastery on Sagaing Hill

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and their wives, Commander of North-West Command Maj-Gen Myo Moe Aung and party, offered rice, edible oil, salt and gram donated by families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) to Sitagu International Vipassana Academy and MahaThubawdayon Monastery on Sagaing Hill of Sagaing Region this morning.

On arrival at Sitagu International Vipassana Academy, the Senior General and party paid homage to Chancellor of Sitagu International Buddhist Academies and Sitagu Hospitals Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhammajotika Agga Maha Pandita Maha Dhammakathika Bahujanahitadhara Joint Shwegyin Sangharaja Sitagu Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Ñanissara and donated 90 bags of rice, 136 viss of edible oil, 45 viss of salt and 302 viss of gram donated by families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), personal goods produced by Tatmadaw factories, cash for nine prerequisites, foodstuffs and equipment for prevention of COVID-19. In his sermon, the Sayadaw wished every person of the country to be noble, moral and wise with holding up of virtue. Good meritorious deeds, morality and wisdom are roots of nobility. All citizens need to try hard in unison to become noble citizens with good merits, morality and wisdom. The Sayadaw prayed that may servicemen of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) led by the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Myanmar citizens and the Union of Myanmar be noble. Then, the Senior General, wife and party shared merits gained for donations.

The Senior General and party went to Maha Thubawdayon Monastery on Sagaing Hill where they paid homage to abbot Sayadaw Ganthavacaka Pandita Bhaddanta Sujanindalankara and members of the Sangha and presented 3,805 bags of rice, 6,700 viss of edible oil, 5,862 viss of salt, 10,052 viss of gram donated by families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) for two weeks, personal goods produced by Tatmadaw factories, cash for nine prerequisites and foodstuffs and equipment for prevention of COVID-19 for 15,243 members of the Sangha from 1,386 monasteries and 8,686 nuns from 476 nunneries on Sagaing Hill, supplicated religious affairs and other requirements and attended to the needs.
