NAY PYI TAW May 21
In its utmost efforts for peace and stability and all-round development of the nation, the State Administration Council (SAC) is giving special priority to the youth sector. At the time when human resources are nurtured for the country, youths should make more progress through exploration and studies based on the various branches of knowledge they have learnt, said Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at his meeting with trainees of basic and advanced marine youth course 1/2025 and basic and advanced aviation youth course 1/2025 and their instructors at Zeyathiri Beikman here this morning.

In his address, the Senior General said the meeting is to honour the youth members of the whole country, who have studied marine and aviation sciences at the respective levels for themselves and for the benefit of the country during the long summer holidays annually, instead of wasting their time for nothing.
The courses started in 2014 and they have already opened nine times till now. Initially, one youth could attend the course only once, but due to enthusiasm and request of youths who have completed the course and those who have not attended the course yet, advanced level courses were opened in 2015 for the former youths to participate in the next level courses. Till today, 8,446 youths have attended the basic level marine youth course and aviation youth course during the nine sessions and 1,644 have attended the advanced level marine youth course and aviation youth course during the eight sessions, totalling 10,090.
The courses have provided invaluable opportunity for the trainees to learn together, work together and share know-ledge together and share experiences and knowledge with their counterparts of various regions, and gained like-minded friends, apart from realizing their original goals. From the circle of friends they met at the courses, youths can extend the circle by adding friends of their friends. In this way, they acquire an extensive area of social relationships.
Importance of good friends
In its utmost efforts for peace and stability and all-round development of the nation, the SAC is giving special priority to the youth sector. The State has already adopted the social objective “To nurture the youth sector, bringing out versatile, physically strong, knowledgeable, morally upright, socially adept and economically empowered young individuals, poised to lead the nation’s development efforts” in its nine objectives. Everyone needs good friends in his life as they always exercise mutual understanding, mutual help, empathy and support, and good, honest, and constructive criticism between one another. With a circle of good friends, a person can build a bright future.
As good friends are vital for every person, Myanmar set up with peoples of multiple ethnicities also have good friends. Countries that stand firm on the right side of the internal situation of Myanmar are its good friends.
Everybody knows about the recent Mandalay earthquake. Countries that delivered rescue teams in time, leaders of the countries that sent messages of condolences, and organizations and countries that provided multiple aid including healthcare, food and accommodation for the victims soon after the quake triggered losses and destruction are the good friends of the country.
Needs to have correct knowledge and idea since life of youth
Books are friends of human. Hence, everybody needs to read fiction books which can soften souls of human and non-fiction literature which add more knowledge to the people so as to constantly improve their lives. And they have to strive to become good and able persons on whom the State can rely in the future.
Needs to be loyal to gratitude of the State
Being growing up on this land, all have to know historical evidences of the mother land. According to the firm evidences, Myanmar has been established as city states with own culture, literature and history for some 2,100 years, since 1st century BC. The Bagan empire was established some 1,100 years ago, and it was a kingdom standing tall as an own monarch with unity of all ethnics. Although the history is very long, people missed chances to learn modern techniques of relevant eras. Hence, the country did not have educated individuals and lack of unity. Consequently, the country was weak in building the modern state, the modern society as well as a modern armed force. That is why Myanmar lost its independence despite fine traditions.
Myanmar regained its independence due to the fact that patriotic youths established a modern Tatmadaw with the united endeavours of the people. People and Tatmadaw members sacrificed life, blood and sweat for regaining independence. In the post-independence era, the country experienced internal armed insurgencies due to the divide-and-rule bad system of colonialists and their instigations which can be dubbed as the immature country facing worse experiences. The country faced the experiences like an event that the immature independence was undermined before having fruits of independence. Hence, Tatmadaw joining hands with the people defended the State hardly. After the Tatmadaw had combatted internal insurgencies and Kuomintang invasion, the country experienced dangers of disintegration of the State due to weakness of politics and destructive attempts of external elements. The independence of the State could be safeguarded difficultly, and then, the country faced dangers of assaulting the independence again. Hence, reviewing all situations, the country was rebuilt under the central control in order to ensure political solidarity, and social and economic unity.
The centralized administration has both weak and strong points. Despite initiating the united political system, the country had lesser development in the economic sector. Taking advantages over it, internal and external saboteurs had attacked the country for many years in various ways. After taking State responsibilities, the Tatmadaw has been making efforts to peacefully initiate the multi-party democratic system that entire people aspire to. In this regard, it is necessary to notice attempts of external elements. These forces and their accomplices which have been committing attempts to ensure instability of the State since the post-independence era led a similar event. Such occurrences aim to take interference of foreign elements at any time. As such, such attempts were controlled under the Constitution. Those saboteurs understand harmonized situations of politics and socio-economic life of Myanmar. They understand that only when they can undermine these harmonized situations will they implement their conspiracy to break up the State and control regional countries showing Myanmar as an example. Hence, all Myanmar citizens need to raise awareness of their attempts.
The State Administration Council has set two political objectives: to strengthen a genuine, disciplined multi-party democracy, and to build a union based on democracy and federalism. Additionally, two national objectives have been established: the prosperity of the nation and food security. In striving for the multi-party democracy desired by the people, it is essential to prevent a recurrence of the disgraceful events witnessed during the 2020 general election, as well as the unlawful actions and authoritarian behavior carried out in the name of democracy before the election, which threatened national unity and stability. Therefore, all citizens must be aware of the true historical events of our country and actively participate as leading youths in building a modern, developed nation under a disciplined multi-party democratic system.
As the saying goes, “One who has eaten even a single bite must remember the kindness”—those born and raised in this land have a duty to uphold loyalty to the nation. Only by always acknowledging the kindness shown to them can they become virtuous individuals recognized by society. Through the training they have received, they must continue to nurture unity and brotherly love among ethnic groups, fostering a union spirit. While developing human resources for the nation, they should further explore the fundamental principles of the knowledge they have acquired and strive for progress. To gain correct understanding, they must read good literature, follow the guidance of parents and teachers, and live accordingly. As the saying goes, “Knowledge is a golden pot that no thief can steal”—in this era of advancing education, they must diligently pursue knowledge while also taking care of their health. They must remain loyal to the motherland, master the knowledge they have learned, and strive to become a new generation that the nation can rely on in the future.
Following this, the Senior General presented commemorative gifts to the maritime and aviation youth trainees. In return, the youth trainees respectfully offered gifts to the Senior General.
Subsequently, trainees Ma Ngu Yi Ko Ko from the maritime youth training course and Ma Thu Yadana Aung from the aviation youth training course sha-red their experiences and knowledge gained from the Basic and Advanced Maritime Youth Training Course (Batch 1/2025) and the Basic and Advanced Aviation Youth Training Course (Batch 1/2025).
They expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn theoretical and practical skills during the summer break, which will contribute to the future of the nation, as well as for the chance to meet and unite with youth from various regions. They believe that the knowledge gained from these courses will serve as a stepping stone toward their personal goals and contribute to the nation’s development like “a brick or a grain of sand in the foundation.” They pledged to strive diligently to become active and capable citizens who can effectively serve the national interest.
Afterward, the Senior General and party hosted a tea reception for the maritime and aviation youth trainees. The Myawady Music Band performed songs in their honor.
Later, the Senior General and party warmly greeted the trainees and instructors from the courses.
Before attending the ceremony, the maritime and aviation youth trainees toured the exhibits inside Zeyathiri Beikman, which included weapons produced by the Myanmar Tatmadaw, various uniforms used by the Army, Navy, and Air Force, communication devices manufactured by the military, scale models of naval vessels, maritime equipment, aircraft and helicopter models, air force gear, and flight simulation demonstrations. Responsible officials provided detailed explanations on topics of interest.
