Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects ministry buildings damaged earthquake, gives necessary instructions

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Joint Secretary of the SAC General Ye Win Oo, union ministers, the chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council and officials, inspected the buidlings of the Supreme Court of the Union and the Ministry of Labour damaged by the Mandalay Earthquake this evening.

During the inspection, the Senior General and party arrived at the building of the Supreme Court of the Union and inspected the clearing of debris, the removal of dangerous ruins, damage to office buildings and opening and operations of temporary prefabricated offices in front of the form office  buildings before giving necessary instructions on reports of responsible officials.

Then, the Senior General and party inspected the operations of the Ministry of Labour by opening temporary prefabricated offices to prevent the disruption of tasks and gave necessary instructions.

Afterward, the Senior General and party viewed round the damage by walking along the circuit of the labour ministry building and heard reports on reconstruction of the office building part by part based on inspection results of construction engineers and seismologists, plans to dismantle parts that are necessary to do so systematically and the need to build a retaining wall at the back of the office submitted by the union minister for construction.

After hearing the reports, the Senior General said the buildings of the Supreme Court of the Union and the Ministry of Labour are included in the list of severely damaged buildings due to the earthquake and it is necessary to consult with seismologists and construction engineers and conduct soil tests and proper calculations in reconstruction of them for their durability and earthquake resistance. Then, the Senior General gave instructions on timely completion of the reconstruction of the office building within the designated period by carrying out initial works as soon as possible and other needs.
