Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held discussions with Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Council (EEC) Board Mr. Bakytzhan Abdirovich Sagintayev at the Minsk International Exhibition Centre BELEXPO this morning.
First, the Senior General was warmly greeted by the chairman of the EEC.
Then, the talks started and the chairman said he cordially greeted the Senior General and delegation, saying further cooperation would be enhanced as the Senior General attended the fourth Eurasian Economic Forum (EEF 2025).
Then, the Senior General said he believed the talks would be a push to implement the cooperation between Myanmar and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries. Myanmar and the EAEU signed a memo-randum of understanding for cooperation in 2023. More-over, the government of the Union of Myanmar and the EEC a memorandum of cooperation-MOC was signed at StPetersburg in the Russian Federation in June, 2023. It could be seen that there were many opportunities to cooperate between Myanmar and EAEU countries. It was believed that Myanmar would become an observer of the EAEU through implementation of the MOC. Myanmar would be able to broaden the cooperation by practical implementation.
Then, the Senior General and the chairman frankly exchanged views on matters related to promotion of economic cooperation between Myanmar and EAEU countries, technical cooperation for enhancement of the agriculture, transportation, mining technology and energy sectors of Myanmar, direct trade and investment between Myanmar and EAEU countries, accelerating the momentum of economic and trade opportunities by holding expos and forums, assistance for Myanmar to become an observer of the EAEU and implementation of the potentials of economic cooperation.
Also present together withthe Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, SAC Member General Nyo Saw, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr KanZaw, deputy ministers, Myanmar Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus U Thit Lin Ohn and officials while the chairman was accompanied by EAEU officials.
