Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects Tatmadaw Leather Factory (Meiktila)

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by an entourage of senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Central Command and officers, inspected the operations of Tatmadaw Leather Factory (Meiktila) in Meiktila Station this afternoon.

First, the Senior General heard reports on implementation of the instructions given by the Senior General during the visit to the factory in 2019, brief his-tory of the factory, capability of machines installed in the factory, yearly production of chrome and suede leather and goat leather, the production process and welfares of factory staff presented by the factory manager at the meeting hall of the factory.

After hearing the report, the Senior General said the Tatmadaw has been providing clothing for Tatmadaw personnel with clothes and articles produced by Tamadaw factors. In the international community, governments provide clothing for their military personnel. The Tatmadaw has been producing clothing for personnel by using high quality raw materials. In addition to raw material, craftsmanship must be exquisite. The factory should not be complacent about current products and qualities and continued efforts must be made to produce higher quality leather raw materials. The factory must be able to fulfil the demand of leather raw materials for Tatmadaw and private factories that produce leather finished products. Leather production process from the international community must be learnt consistently. In addition to leather for shoe industries, the factory must be able to produce high quality leather for other purposes. Then, the Senior General gave other necessary instructions.

Afterward, the Senior General inspected the tannin, finishing and suede sections of the factory and gave necessary instructions on reports of officials.

Then, the Senior General inspected the products of the factory and gave necessary instructions before presenting cash rewards for factory workers.
