Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently in the People’s Republic of China on his working visit, held discussions with President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic H.E. Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith at Renaissance Tianjin Lake hotel in Tianjin at 12 noon local time this afternoon.
First, the President of the LPDR cordially greeted the Senior General and held discussions.
Also present together with the Senior General were Commission Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, commission members of his entourage, union ministers, the Myanmar ambassador to China and senior military officers and the President of the LPDR was accompanied by officials from the government of the LPDR.
The Senior General and the LPDR President exchanged views on matters related to border stability, promotion of cooperation and friendship between the two governments, further promotion of tourism and trade sectors, cooperation between the two armed forces, support for successfully holding elections in Myanmar, plans to send election observers and enhancing cooperation in other sectors.
