Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of   the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of  Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and high-level Myanmar  delegation visit Tianjin Port

Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is in the People’s Republic of China to pay a working visit, accompanied members of the entourage, visited Tianjin Port at 10 am local time today.

First, the Senior General and high-level Myanmar delegation left Tengla Hotel in Tianjin in a motorcade and observed urban developments all along the route.

On arrival at the Tianjin Port, the Senior General and party were welcomed by port officials.

The port administrator reported on matters relating to  the port, and a port official on  salient points of the port, domestic and international freight services of the port, ongoing  cross-country trade, port development project, AI applied container terminal services, activities to ensure a carbon-free port and use of wind power for operations.

Regarding the reports, the Senior General asked for more information.

The Senior General and party observed container terminal services that were operating with AI technology and other port functions.

Then AI-run container trucks of the port displayed the acronym “SCO” of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO SUMMIT 2025).

The Senior General and party posed for group documentary photos and exchanged gifts with the port administrator.

The Tianjin Port is the core of the Binhai New Area (BNA)district of Tianjin municipality, the main special economic zone of northern China, and is located near Haihe River on the west bank of Bohai Bay in Tianjin municipality. The port is projected to become the main supply and transport facility of northern China. It was inaugurated in October 1952 as a deep water seaport/river port. It has a total area of 470 square kilometers including 121 square kilometers of land surface and a total of over 217 berths including 140 production berths. The Tianjin port is running its container terminal services through AI technology, and has a depth of 22 meters (77 feet) and can accommodate up to 300,000-ton vessels. It is exporting over 500 million tons of freight and 13 million containers every year. It is providing services for 14 regions and provinces of the country. Its total volume of port services is more than half of the volume of the entire China.
