Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing holds talks with Vice President of PRC H.E. Mr. Han Zheng

 Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who was in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China to pay a working visit, held talks with Vice President of PRC H.E. Mr. Han Zheng at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse at 12 noon local time today.

First, the PRC Vice President warmly welcomed the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, followed by a photo session.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Commission Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Commission member Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Commission member Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin, Union ministers, Dr Wah Wah Maung, U Min Naung and U Chit Swe, Myanmar Ambassador to PRC U Tin Maung Swe, deputy mi-nisters of the delegation and officials. The PRC Vice President was accompanied by officials of PRC government, Ambassador of PRC to Myanmar H.E. Ms. Ma Jia and officials.

Cordial discussions between both sides at the meeting were centred on SCO that is an im-portant organization for South-east Asian nations, Myanmar’s cooperation with SCO to join the body, Myanmar-China cooperation based on common ground between the two good neighbours, mutual support for progress, further promotion of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, bilateral cooperation for peace and stability in border area, Myanmar’s endeavours for internal peace, bilateral cooperation for economic development, ongoing Chinese help for the damages caused by the Mandalay earthquake in March, and continuous assistance for peace, stability and progress of Myanmar.
