Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a working visit to the People’s Republic of China, met and held discussions with Mr. Xu Qin, Secretary of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, at 6:00 pm local time today.
Attending the meeting from the Myanmar side were the Senior General, along with Commission Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, other Commission Members, Union Ministers, and the Myanmar Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China. From the Chinese side, the Secretary of the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee was accompanied by members of the Heilongjiang Provincial Government, H.E. Ms. Ma Jia, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, and other responsible officials.
During the meeting, they frankly and openly exchanged views on various topics. These included the successful hosting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit 2025 and the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. They also discussed how diplomatic relations between Myanmar and China have surpassed 75 years, highlighting the fraternal and friendly cooperation between the two nations. Further discussions covered the successful agricultural and livestock farming operations within Heilongjiang Province, the establishment and operation of its higher education universities and colleges, and the attendance of Myanmar students there. Other points included the potential for exporting Myanmar agricultural produce to Heilongjiang Province, conducting technological exchanges in the agriculture and livestock sectors, enhancing cooperation in education and culture, and the state of trade and multifaceted cooperation between Heilongjiang Province and Myanmar.
