Acting President of the Re-public of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by SSPC Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, SSPC members, union ministers, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and officials, inspected PyinOoLwin railway station this evening.
On arrival at the station, the Senior General and party were welcomed by Union Minister for Transport and Communication U Mya Tun Oo, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and officials.
The Union Minister for Transport and Communication and officials reported on restoration of the part between Goteik-bridge pier No. 16 and approach structure No. 2 of the Goteik-bridge at Goteik-Naungpain section mined by terrorist in-surgents by installing a new steel frame to resume train services along the PyinOoLwin-Nawnghkio-Goteik-Kyaukme section of Mandalay-Lashio railroad, replacement of the dam-aged steel frame with way beams, rail laying work in progress, production of a steel frame that exactly resembles the damaged one, progress in bush clearing and rail repair works along the railway, maintenance of Htonbo-PyinOoLwin-Nawnghkio-Goteik-Kyaukme railroad and removing of mines planted by terrorist insurgents along the railway, destruction of the railroad and its parts and accessories by insurgents, 3,832 rail-connectors, 17,188 bolts, 163,115 rail clips, that were stolen by terrorist insurgents, efforts to install new ones and conduct repairs in time and ongoing efforts to resume rail services.
In response, the Senior General pointed out the need to systematically repair the parts of Goteik bridge, blown up by terrorist insurgents, and take security measures, to make exact calculations for ensuring smooth and safe rail services along the railroad in conducting part-by-part restoration work, to lay rocks needed for the railroad in accord with the prescriptions, to examine the durability of the bridges along the rail line and carrying out necessary maintenance work, to conduct preparatory works for ensuring smooth and convenient rail services at the time the section is opened, to use coal-burn locomotives in PyinOoLwin-Goteik-Naungpain section to attract local and foreign tourists, to extend rail ser-vices during the coming Thadingyut holidays. He also looked into the other requirements.


Then, the Senior General and his delegation visited the 6-storey upgraded new Thumingala Market (Nyantaw Market) construction project in PyinOoLwin, where Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung provided a briefing. The Chief Minister reported on the project’s progress, the implementation of previous state instructions, plans for shop and parking allocations, and arrangements for drainage. He also detailed the plan to install solar panels for power generation to support the market’s electricity needs and the ongoing efforts to ensure the project meets construction standards and is completed within the set timeframe.
Following the briefing, the Senior General explained that the new advanced market is intended to be a standard market that aligns with PyinOoLwin’s increasing population and tourism, and to centralize the availability of local and basic consumer goods. He instructed them to monitor the work to ensure the market meets the standards suitable for urban development. Furthermore, he emphasized that once construction is complete, strict attention must be paid to the systematic arrangement of market stalls, prioritizing cleanliness, and ensuring proper water and electricity systems, before providing other necessary guidance.
Afterward, the Senior General inspected the progress of work inside the 6-storey upgraded new Thumingala Market (Nyantaw Market) construction project. It was reported that following the inspection, he provided necessary guidance to the responsible officials regard-ing the issues presented.
