Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission of the Re-public of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, watched the central level contests of the 26th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions at Hsinbyushin Hall and National Museum in Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon.
Also enjoying the contests together with the Senior General and wife were SSPC member Prime Minister U Nyo Saw and wife, SSPC member Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dway and wife, union ministers, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, deputy ministers, judges, managers, contestants from regions and states, national brethren, performing arts enthusiasts.
First, the Senior General and wife and party watched the region/state-wise basic education level (age 15-20) male Ohsi contests and male Dhobat contests at Hsinbyushin Hall. They enjoyed the beautiful and elegant music and dances staged by the contestants in an attractive way.
They then enjoyed the region/statewise basic education level (age 15-20) female harp contest, in which contestants played the Hlyatpankhwaynwet (Yodaya) song pleasantly and gracefully, at the mini theatre of the National Museum.
Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, and party watched the competitors of the higher education level (female) piano contests playing a modern song “Manetphan Thomahok Bethawakha” at Yinkyehmu Yadana Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
After the competitions, the Senior General and wife cordially greeted the judges of the level-wise contests and contestants.
The 26th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions is been held on a grand-scale at the designated venues type wise with the objectives to explore, preserve, and enhance Myanmar’s national prestige, integrity, and distinctive cultural heritage; to promote and exemplify the spirit of national solidarity and unity through Myanmar’s art; to transmit traditional performing arts to the younger generation; and to function as a national cultural and artistic institution contributing to the State’s socio-economic development. The contestants are taking part in the competitions with their brilliant artistic skills, and the performing arts enthusiasts giving their heartfelt support.
