Upon the invitation of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chair-man of the State Security and Peace Commission, the high-level delegation led by H.E. Mr. Alexander Gregoryevich Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, arrived in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on a state visit. The special flight carrying the high-level delegation entered Myanmar’s airspace this evening. It was greeted and escorted by three fourth-generation Su-30 SME multi-role fighter jets from the Myanmar Tatmadaw (Air) and subsequently landed at the Nay Pyi Taw Tatmadaw Airport.
Upon arrival at the airport, the high-level delegation led by the President of Belarus was warmly welcomed and greeted by Member of the SSPC Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, Chair-man of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of the Re-public of the Union of Myanmar to the Republic of Belarus, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and other officials.
Furthermore, the high-level delegation led by the President of Belarus was accorded a ceremonial welcome. In accordance with tradition for receiving State leaders, the Guard of Honour presented arms and lined the red carpet for the distinguish-ed guests. Cultural troupes and dance groups performed traditional cultural dances as a welcome. Students waved the flags of both countries and chanted, “Long live the President of Belarus! Long live the lasting friendship between the two nations!” The welcome was also marked by a jubilant atmosphere with the display of commemorative flags of both nations along the route, decorative coloured lights, and large LED posters bearing the message: “Myanmar Warmly Welcomes H.E. Mr. Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus.”
Diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Belarus have now lasted for 26 years. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing had previously visited the Republic of Belarus twice in 2025 on state-level friendship visits, following an invitation from the Belarusian President. Now, at the invitation of the Senior General, H.E. Mr. Alexander Gregoryevich Lukashenko is making a state visit to Myanmar. This visit marks the first historic visit by a President of Belarus since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During the visit, the President of Belarus is scheduled to meet with the Acting President of the Re-public of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission. They will hold discussions on matters related to enhancing friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and will sign Memoranda of Understanding.
This state visit will serve to enhance the friendship and cooperation between the two nations, enable cultural exchanges, facilitate the exchange of agricultural and livestock production technologies, and further promote collaborative efforts across various sectors.
