Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing welcomed President H.E. Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus, who arrived in Myanmar on an official goodwill visit, with guard of honour at Hsinbyudaw Hall of Presidential Palace this morning.
The Belarusian President arrived at the Presidential Palace on a special motorcade usher in by a calvary guard of honour, and was warmly welcomed by the Senior General.
The Senior General and the Belarusian President took positions on the dais and took the salute of the guard of honour. At the same time, a 21-gun salute was performed with a military parade in their honour.

The Senior General and the Balarusian President inspected the guard of honour, followed by a mutual introduction ceremony between the attendees of the two countries.
After signing the visitors book of the Presidential Palace, the Belarusian President posed for documentary with the Senior General.
Afterward, Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and President of the Republic of Belarus H.E. Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko held a separate meeting at the Credentials Hall of the Presidential Palace.
At the meeting, the Senior General said that Your Excellency, the Belarusian President, and delegation were warmly welcomed by Myanmar. He said it is a visit that expresses Belarus’s friendship and trust on Myanmar and also a historic trip the Head of State of Belarus made in the 26 years of history of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Exchange of goodwill visits between the two countries will further enhance diplomatic relations and cooperation in multiple sectors. The Senior General thanked Belarus for its stand and support for Myanmar in the international affairs, and expressed pleasure for Belarus for being a BRICS member. He said Myanmar is trying to become a member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), BRICS and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and the Belarus’s continuous support in the matter is requested. He expressed belief that talks on further improvement of bilateral cooperation in multi sectors between the countries can be held during the Excellency’s visit.
In his discussions, the Belarusian President thanked Myanmar for extending a warm welcome to the delegation he is leading. He said he was very proud and happy to witness the warm welcome extended by Myanmar and the preparations for it. Although the two countries are far from one another, bilateral friendship is developing. Belarus is an industrial country that possesses advanced technology in industrial, pharmaceutical, educational and agricultural fields, and it will fully cooperate with Myanmar in all required sectors. Sectors of military technology and trade will also be promoted, and as the two countries had already organized economic forums, the requirements for bilateral economic cooperation have already been identified. Currently, a roadmap (2026-2028) on promotion of bilateral economic cooperation has already been adopted and will proceed accordingly. Belarus will always stand by Myanmar in international affairs and organizational affairs. Belarus welcomes every issue of bilateral cooperation.

The Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission and the Belarusian President cordially exchanged views on areas where economic cooperation and investments can be further promoted, continued development of cooperation in educational, health, industrial, agricultural and military fields, Myanmar’s seriousness in eradicating online scam and gam-bling, which are endangering the entire world, as a national task, cautiousness in launching anti-online scam and gambling at Myanmar-Thai border as the illegal business is an unconventional challenge, the extension of the illegal business during the post Covid-19 in 2020, establishment of online fraud in cooperation with illegal armed groups by taking the gradual weakness in stability and rule of law at border areas when political instability occurred in Myanmar in 2021, detention and transfer of nearly 70,000 foreigner from 52 countries, arrested at the scam hub, preparations for deportation of the remaining 1,000 foreigners and complete demolition of the illegal buildings to totally stop online gambling or any other criminal businesses from setting foot there and operations to entirely root out online scam and gambling, multi-party general election in Myanmar that is drawing nearer and sending of observer teams from Belarus, further promotion of mutual friendship and cooperation in multi sectors.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were SSPC Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, union ministers, the Myanmar ambassador to Belarus. The Belarusian President was accompanied by senior officials and cabinet ministers of the Belarusian government.
