The commemorative tree planting ceremony, intended to ensure the long-lasting diplomatic friendship between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Republic of Belarus, was held this afternoon at the National Herbal Park under the Department of Traditional Medicine, Ministry of Health, located near the Pyinmana-Taungnyo Road in Zabu Thiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Belarus, H.E. Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko, who is on an official goodwill visit to Myanmar, and the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and they jointly planted a Gondola tree (Kankaw).
Attending the ceremony along with the President of Belarus and the Acting President of Myanmar/Commission Chair-man were Commission member Union Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, Commission Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers U Tun Ohn, U Mya Tun Oo, U Than Swe, U Khin Maung Yi, Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, Deputy Ministers, members of the Belarus goodwill delegation, and other officials.
Initially, the President of Be-larus and the Acting President of Myanmar/Commission Chairman jointly planted the commemorative Gondola tree at the designated spot in the Nay Pyi Taw National Herbal Park, after which the President of Belarus sprinkled the commemorative brass plaque with perfume.
Subsequently, the President of Belarus, the Acting President of Myanmar, and the delegation took a group commemorative photo in front of the Belarus-Myanmar commemorative Gondola tree and toured the National Herbal Park to view the commemorative trees planted by the Heads of State from ASEAN and BIMSTEC member countries.
