President of the Republic of Belarus H.E. Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko and Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pay homage to Maravijaya Buddha Image

President of the Republic of Belarus H.E. Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko, who is on an official goodwill visit to Myanmar, and Acting President of the Republic of  the Union of Myanmar Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing paid homage to Maravijaya Buddha Image, the highest in the world among the Buddha Statues in the sitting posture, in Buddha Park, Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, Pyindaungsu Territory, this afternoon.

The Senior General and the Belarusian President arrived at the place where the Buddha Image is located, and were welcomed by SSPC member Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, SSPC Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, union ministers, U Mya Tun Oo, U Than Swe, U Maung Maung Ohn, U Tin Oo Lwin, U Ko Ko Lwin, U Myo Thant, Nay Pyi Taw Council member, members of the Board of Trustees of Maravijaya Buddha Image and officials.

The Belarusian President and the Senior General posed for documentary photo at the victory spot of the Buddha Image and visited Gandakudi Taik. At the Gandakudi Chamber 2, the Senior General explained the historical record of the erection of the Buddha Image and building of the Maravijaya Park.

The Belarusian President and the Senior General rang the Saddadhipati Bell.

They then offered flowers, water, oil lamps to the Buddha Image, and the Belarusian President signed the visitors’ book.

Acting President of the Re-public of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented a book on the history of the Buddha Image (in English and Myanmar) and a photo and video documentary on the visit of the Belarusian President to H.E. Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The goodwill delegation led by the Belarusian President left the Buddha Park where the Maravijaya Buddha Image is located. The Senior General, the SSCP Secretary, union mini-

sters, the Nay Pyi Taw Council member, members of the Board of Trustees and officials warmly greeted and saw them off.
