SSPC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects construction of war veteran housing in PyinOoLwin

Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission  Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, members  of the  inspection team, the commander of Central Command and officials, this morning inspected progress in construction of the war veteran housing in PyinOoLwin.

At the briefing hall, Quartermaster-General Lt-Gen Zaw Hein and officials reported to the Senior General on extended construction of the war veteran housing in financial years, settlement of war veterans and families, and work process.

In his response to the reports, the Senior General gave guidance that it is necessary to systematically settle war veterans and families at the completed housings. He stressed that it is necessary to supervise construction of housing to be completed on time, meeting the standards. The housing estates must be facilitated with the areas where people can take physical exercises to help their health condition. Construction of the high-rise buildings must be calculated systematically to have resilience against natural disasters.

A total of 10 four-storey two-unit housing for other ranks, 10 six-storey four-unit housing for other ranks, three six-storey four-unit junior officer housing, and one six-storey four-unit senior officer housing have been built at the war veteran housing in PyinOoLwin. Plans are underway to build housing for senior officers, junior officer and other ranks.

The Senior General inspected functions of the railway station in  PyinOoLwin where Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo and officials reported on keeping the station clean and pleasant, and removal of illegal residents and vendors from the station yard.

In his response, the Senior General gave guidance to carry out systematic management for the station and viewed round the station.
