Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar,Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior GeneralMin Aung Hlaing graces ceremony to open the new building of Central Bank of the Republic of Union of Myanmar (Mandalay branch)

A ceremony to open the new building of Central Bank of the Republic of Union of Myanmar (Mandalay branch) was held this morning, graced by Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chair-man of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who formally inaugurated the building.

Also present at the ceremony together with the Senior General were SSPC Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, union ministers and the persons with the rank of a minister, the Mandalay Region chief minister, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Central Command commander, region level departmental officials, members of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank, and officials of the Myanmar Banks Association and State-owned and private banks.

The Senior General and party arrived at the venue, and were welcomed by the Union Minister for Construction, the chief minister, the governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar and officials.

SSPC Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Daw Than Than Swe formally opened the new building of the branch by cutting a ribbon.

Afterward, Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing formally inaugurated the building by pushing the button. The Senior General and attendees posed for documentary photos.

The Senior General sprinkled scented water on the plaque of the building, and the SSPC Secretary and attendees followed suit.

The Senior General and party looked around the new branch building.

At the second part of the ceremony, a video clip on the history of the branch and the completion of the new building was shown, and Union Minister U Myo Thant handed over the related documents to Governor Daw Than Than Swe.

The Senior General then accepted a commemorative gift presented by the governor in his honor.

The governor spoke words of thanks regarding the opening of the new branch building.

After the ceremony, the Senior General cordially greeted the attendees.

The Senior General was conducted round the documentary photo gallery of the new building.

The Central Bank of Myanmar is implementing its adopted vision and objectives in accord with the changing systems for the stability and development of the financial sector. Its functions involve the effective supervision and control of the financial sector of states and regions of Myanmar, the financial progress of various parts of the country, alongside their development, and  promotion  and effective supervision of financial inclus-ion of the relevant parts of the country including border areas. The new building of Central Bank of the Republic of Union of Myanmar (Mandalay branch) was erected in financial year 2022-2023 in Mandalay, an economic hub of Myanmar, in accord with the directive of the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, and the inauguration ceremony took place today. The Ministry of Construction erected the building in accord with the standard features and quality of an international central bank.
