Acting President of the Re-public of the Union of Myanmar,Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thai-land H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuang-ketkeow at the parlour of Ba-yintnaung Villa, Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon.
Also present at the call toge-ther with the Senior General were SSPC Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, and SSPC members, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe. The Thai Foreign Minister was accompanied by Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump and members of the delegation.
At the meeting, cordial dis-cussions were centred on a long history between the two countries, Myanmar and Thai-land, which are good friends and neighbours, continued im-plementation of the agreements between the two countries and programs for further cemen-ting bilateral cooperation, the essentiality of peace and stability in border areas for border trade recovery that calls for cooperation between the governments and armed forces of the two countries, the requirement of anti-illicit trade operations in border areas, demolition of buildings in KK Park and Shwe Kokko, the venues of online scams to root out the illegal business, by Myanmar, State-level coopera-tion in anti-gunrunning at border areas, Myanmar’s cooperation in the ASEAN, pre-parations for holding a free and fair multi-party democracy election in Myanmar, and the Thai elections that will be held in January 2026, and continued efforts for further impro-vement of bilateral friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
After the call, Acting Presi-dent of the Republic of theUnion of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Thai FM exchanged commemorative gifts and posed for documen-tary photos together with the attendees.
