Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing gives instructions on urban development and pleasantness in Mandalay

Acting President of the Re-public of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing  met with ministers of the Mandalay Region Government and officials from the City Development Committee and gave necessary instructions on urban development, cleanliness and pleasantness this afternoon.

Also present were Secretary of the Commission  General Ye Win Oo, Chief Minister of Mandalay Region U Myo Aung, senior military officers from the Office of Commander-in-Chief, responsible officers from the Mandalay City Development Committee.

In delivering an address at the meeting, the Senior General said he inspected the Phase-3 of the multi-party democracy 2025 and it was found that public voters, including youths and middle-aged people, had cast their votes tumultuously. It was an interesting and good symbol to see that youths were interested in the election. In doing so, it was found that roads, streets and urban areas were clean and pleasant and he gladly appreciated the responsibility and abidance of discipline of the residents. As the Phase-1, and Phase-2 and Phase-3 of the election were successfully held, there would be a new government at the end of March. During the time before the new government was formed, tasks for pleasantness and development of Mandalay must be carried out without losing momentum. It is necessary to carry out post-earth rehabilitation tasks. Everybody was urged to continue to prioritize possible tasks for the pleasantness of the city during the two months transition period. It was important to carry out tasks to redraw centre lines of roads and road direction sign boards, which could be comple-ted within a short time. It was necessary to clear sand, earth and rubbish that had covered traffic islands and pavements. In carrying out tasks for cleanliness and maintenance of roads, it was necessary to wash them before drawing lines on them. Maintenance of pavements and proper drainage must be carried out.

It was also necessary to measure the air pollution of the city and steps must be taken to address the issue. It was recognized that tasks for cleanliness of schools had been carried out. It showed the abidence or principles by teachers and students. In connection with education, it is important to enhance the teaching capabilities of teachers by conducting courses. As for students, it is necessary to prepare to conduct courses on culture, English, basic computer skills and other beneficial courses during summer holidays. The Tatmadaw had been conducting navigation and aviation youths training courses (basic and advanced) annually.

In education, discussions were being made to upgrade education degree colleges to education universities that nurtured teachers. It was a measure to offer benefits according to their degree levels and academic qualifications. To raise the education standards of the country, it was necessary to enhance the qualification of the education staff, who were responsible for teaching, at first. In our country, as most students are relying on government schools, it is necessary to enhance the qualification of education staff. it was essential to nurture educated human resources to build a future developed country, education was being promoted.

As the Mandalay Region mainly produced oil crops, it was necessary to place emphasis on high yield. Domestic production was being encouraged and a good domestic economy would enhance supply and demand, leading to the benefits of increasing money circulation and creating job opportunities. It was necessary to form a committee to properly improve the yield of oil crops and pulses and beans, which thrived in the region. It was also vital for industrial zones to encourage MSMEs. As the country encouraged MSMEs, the economy of the country returned positive. As MSMEs were the lifeblood of developing countries, production based on agriculture and livestock breeding must be boosted.

It was gladly recognized that much progress was seen due to the efforts of the regional government and abidence of disciplines and willingness to work by residents. It was necessary to sustain and hand over such favourable conditions to the upcoming government.

Then, the Senior General gave necessary instructions on reports of the regional chief minister for production of rubber products in the regional industrial zones.
