Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing receives Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar

Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, who had completed his tour of duties in Myanmar, at the parlour of Office of the National Defence and Security Council here this afternoon.

Also present at the call together with the Senior General were SSPC Secretary General Ye Win Oo and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Ko Ko Kyaw. The Thai ambassador was accompanied by officials of Thai Embassy in Myanmar.

At the call, cordial discussions were centred on Myanmar Thai diplomatic relations and friendship, participation of Thailand in monitoring the multi-party democracy general elect-ion in Myanmar together with international observers and the eyewitness account of the voters casting ballots on own accord without anyone’s exhortation, holding of a free, fair and clean election, the need to cooperation between the governments and militaries of the two countries to restore bilateral trade and commodity flow through ensuring peace and stability at the border, Myanmar government’s ardent efforts in conducting counter-narcotics and antionline scam and gambling operations as a national task, and the ongoing bilateral cooperation in con-ducting environmental conserving activities at the common border.

After the call, Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar; Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the ambassador of Thailand exchanged gifts and posed for group documentary photos.
