Acting President of the Republic of  the Union of Myanmar and SSPC Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects urban development implementation in PyinOoLwin

The Acting President of the Republic of  the Union of Myan-mar and Chairman of  the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by the Secretary of the Commission General Ye Win Oo, and members accompanying him on the trip, the Chief Minister of Mandalay Region and officials, inspected the implementation of the urban development of PyinOoLwin this morning.

First, the Senior General and members toured PyinOoLwin by vehicles and inspected the road widening and related works such as road repair works, bridge construction works, soil drainage excava tion works, asphalt paving works, and thermo plastic paint works to achieve a 24-foot width in accordance with the urban features of the PyinOoLwin Township Development Board on Theingi Street, Yadana Street, Nawarat Street, and Pyithaya Street in Wards 8, 10, and Padetha Myothit, and gave necessary instructions.

After that, the Senior General and members arrived at PyinOoLwin Station and inspected the implementation of urban development projects in the station area.

During the inspection, Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo and Deputy Minister U Aung Myaing explained the progress of the construction of the stadium and indoor sports hall, the construction of staff housing, the construction of a 4-storey building with a high-end hotel and shopping center in the station area, the progress of the implementation of the project in accordance with the process steps, and the status of the PyinOoLwin-Goteik train route.

In response to the presentations, the Senior General said that the urban development of PyinOoLwin needs to be implemented systematically to utilize the land effectively. Since PyinOoLwin Station and Kalaw Station are ancient and historical stations, it is necessary to systematically maintain the station buildings and to continuously maintain the station boundaries in an orderly manner, to keep them clean and beautiful, and to create a peaceful environment. Urban development and greening of the environment

will attract domestic and foreign travellers to the region and will also increase national income. Regarding the train service from PyinOoLwin Station to Goteik Viaduct, it is necessary to provide guidance to ensure that passengers can ride safely and enjoy local knowledge and the beauty of the natural environment, and other necessary matters.

Then, the Senior General inspected the upgrading of the Anisakan Airport and instructed, Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo and officials to systematically calculate the long-term benefits of the project based on the reports of future tourism, trade and development, and to provide other necessary guidance.
