The opening ceremony of Thumingalar Advanced Market in PyinOoLwin was held at the market this morning and Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing formally opened the market.
Secretary of the commission General Ye Win Oo, union ministers U Mya Tun Oo, Dr Charlie Than, U Myo Thant, Chief Minister of Mandalay Region U Myo Aung, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Central Command, deputy ministers, members of the Mandalay Region Government, departmental officials, officials from companies who were involved in construction of the market, town elders and local residents and national race cultural troupes also attended the ceremony lively.
First, the Senior General arrived at the market and was greeted by cultural troupes of national races and officials while students from National University of Culture and Fine Arts (Mandalay) and Education Degree College (Mandalay) performed a song “The Tower of the Flower World”.
Then, the new market building was opened by Secretary of the Commission General Ye Win Oo, union ministers U Mya Tun Oo and U Myo Thant, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and Mandalay Region Development Affairs Minister U Kyaw San by cutting a ribbon.
Afterward, the Senior General unveiled the signboard of the market by pressing a button. Then, students from National University of Culture and Fine Arts and Education Degree College (Mandalay) performed a song titled beautiful and colourful Thumingalar.
Then, the Senior General and attendees posed for documentary photographs.
Afterward, the Senior General, the commission secretary, the union ministers, the chief minister of Mandalay Region and attendees sprinkled scented water on the stone plaque of the market.
Then, the Senior General and attendees inspected the operations of shops in the market, children playing on the playground of the market and the cine-ma hall and heard reports of officials.
Then, the second part of the ceremony was held at the multi-purpose hall of the market and the Senior General and attendees enjoyed the video clip depicting the history and completion of Thumingalar Advanced Market new building.
Afterward, the Senior General accepted a commemorative gift for the opening of the new market building from the chief minister of Mandalay Region. Then, the Senior General and attendees enjoyed a performance of the song titled beautiful and colourful Thumingalar.
Then, the chief minister of Mandalay Region expressed thanks for completion of construction works of the market.
After the ceremony, the Senior General cordially greeted the attendees.
The advanced market was constructed with the aims of building an advanced market that keep up with increasing population and vacationers, being a new RC advanced market that meets international standards and urban development, trading all local produ cts at a place collectively and facilitating trade flows between mountainous regions and plain regions under the guidance of the Head of State.
The new market building is a six-storey RC structure and systematically installed with 12 escalators, six lifts, a solar power system, a security system, a fire alarm system, and a natural disaster resilience system.
The market houses branded shops, promotion areas, cart shop areas, bank areas, a supermarket, minimarts, stores, clothing and cosmetic shops, groceries, restaurants, a play-ground for children, cinema halls and a systematic car parking.
