An auspicious ceremony to present religious titles for 2026 and donate provisions was held at Aggadipati Sasana Beikman in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Park here this afternoon, attended by Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission,Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, who presented religious titles and provisions and offertories.
Present were Sayadaws from the country and abroad and a nuns who will receive religious titles led by Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee (SSMNC) Thanlyin Min-kyaung Monastery Sayadaw Ab-hidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candiama Bhivamsa, and Secretary of SSMNC Patron of Masoeyein Taikthit Monastery Sayadaw of Dhamma Thamaindi pariyati school in Mandalay Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Maha Dhamma Kahtika Bahujana Hitadhara Bhaddanta Vaselabhivamsa. The Senior General and wife were accom-panied by SSPC Vice Chairman Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, SSPC member Prime Minister U Nyo Saw and wife, SSPC member Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dway and wife, SSPC Secretary General Ye Win Oo and wife, SSPC members and wives, union-level dignitaries, union ministers and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chair, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander and officials, and lay persons who won Sasana Nuggaha Title.
After opening the ceremony by reciting Namotassa three times, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Aye Tun read out the agenda and declared the ceremony open.
The Senior General and wife and the congregation received the Nine Precepts from the SSMNC Chairman Sayadaw.
The SSMNC Chairman Sayadaw, winner of Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Gugu Title, delivered Ovdakahta and Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin supplicated religious matters.
At the ceremony, Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Title and insignia to the SSMNC Chairman Sayadaw.
Commission Vice Chairman Vice-Senior General Soe Win offered Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Title and insignia to Dr Bhaddanta Vijjananda Bhivamsa of Maha Gandayon Monastey of Sagaing.
Commission member Prime Minister U Nyo Saw also presented Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Title and insignia to Naya Monastery Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nandiya of Dekkhinayama Phayagyi Monastery of Chanmya-thazi Township in Mandalay Region; Commission member Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dway, Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Title and insignia to Maha Withutayama (Central) Monastery Sayadaw Bhaddanta Paññajota of Pakokku in Magway Region; and Commission Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Title and insignia to Monastic Education Post-Primary School Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nayaka Bhivamsa of Myingyan in Man-dalay Region, respectively.
Furthermore, Commission members, union-level dignitaries, union ministers, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and officials offered Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika, Agga Maha Pandita, Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja, Agga Maha Ganthavacaka Pandita and Agga Maha Kammathana-cariya Titles and insignia to Title recipient Sayadaws.
The wife of the Senior General also presented Agga Maha Ganthavacaka Pandita Title and insignia to Nun Daw Kalyasingi of Thameikdawdaya Nunnery in Sagaing of Sagaing Region.
Afterwards, the Senior General presented Agga Maha Thiri Thudhamma Manizawtadhara Title and insignia to U Kyaw Soe Win (a) U Khant Sithu and Thiri Thudhamma Manizawtadhara Title and insignia to U Zaw Latt and U Tin Maung Win, respectively.
The Commission Vice Chairman handed Thiha ThudhammaManizawtadhara Title and insignia to Thura U Myint Maung.
The wife of the Senior General gave Agga Maha Thiri Thudhamma Theingi Title and insignia to Dr Htay Htay Khaing, Daw Htay Htay Win, Daw Nyunt Yin Win and Daw Thida Aung, Thiri Thudhamma Theingi Title and insignia to Daw Nang Aye Khant and Daw Khin Thida, Thiha Thudhamma Theingi Title and insignia to Daw San San Aye, Daw Ohnma Myint, Daw Nilar, Daw War War Thin, Daw Thinza Win Sein, Dr Daw Nang Kue Ku and Daw Thida Lwin while the wife of the Vice-Senior Geneal presented Thiha Thudhamma Theingi Title and insignia to Daw Tin Moe Nwe, Dr Aye Khaing Nyunt, Daw Khin Hnin Wai, Daw Marlar Tint, Dr Daw Tin Lin Myint, Daw Khin Lay Myint, Daw Khin Hla Win, Daw Su Nyunt Oo, Daw Than Than Aye, Dr Nanda Hmun and Daw Kyu Kyu Soe, respectively.
Secretary of SSMNC Patron of Masoeyein Taikthit Monastery Sayadaw of Dhamma Thamaindi pariyati school in Mandalay Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Maha Dhamma Kahtika Bahujana Hitadhara Bhaddanta Va selabhivamsa delivered a sermon, and the congregation shared merits gained. The cere-mony ended with three-time recitation of “Buddha Sasanam Ciram Titthatu”.
The rice offering ceremony followed. The Senior General and his wife together with Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Commission member Prime Minister U Nyo Saw and his wife, Commission member Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dway and his wife, Commission Secretary General Ye Win Oo and his wife, Commission members and their wives, union-level dignitaries, union ministers and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, departmental personnel and well-wishers offered rice and alms to the Sayadaws and the nun who have accepted religious titles for 2026 at relevant pavalions in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Park.
