Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla,families of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air)water Maha Bodhi banyan trees on full moon day of Kason

As the water-pouring festival at banyan trees which is one of Myanmar’s festivals in 12 months fell on the full moon day of Kason, 1380 Myanmar Era, today, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla together with families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) watered Maha Bodhi banyan trees at Lawka Chantha Hsutaungpyae Pagoda in front of Zeyathiri Department Store in Zeyathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw this evening.

The Senior General and wife offered flowers, oil lights and water to the pagoda. Officers, other ranks and families led by the Senior General and wife took the positions to pour water at Maha Bodhi banyan trees in the precinct of the pagoda. Groups of them from respective positions watered the trees and sprinkled scented water at them.

The ceremony was also attended by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, the Union Minister for Home Affairs and wife, the Union Minister for Defence and wife, the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and wife, officers, other ranks and families of the offices and departments. They participated in the ceremony of pouring water at the banyan trees.

Likewise, military commands held the festival of watering banyan trees on the full moon day of Kason. In this regard, Nay Pyi Taw Command, Northern Command, North East Command, Central East Command, Triangle Region Command, South-East Command, Coastal Region Command, Yangon Command, South-West Command, Western Command, North-West Command, Central Command and Southern Command also held the ceremonies to pour water at banyantrees on full moon day of Kason.
