Senior General Min Aung Hlaing cordially greets officials, senior teachers of Myanmar Martial Arts Federation

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing cordially met officials and senior teachers of the Myanmar Martial Arts Federation, who are attending the final match of 2018-2019 Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Myanma martial arts competition and award presentation ceremony, at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Stadium (B) here this evening.

At the meeting, the Senior General said the Myanmar martial arts has been popular as a sport as well as a self-defence art since the time of the Myanmar Kings. The Tatmadaw is currently making efforts for the development of the Myanmar martial arts. Patriotism and the spirit to love the country can be born through the skillfulness of Myanmar martial arts among youths. The ultimate goal is for the inclusion of Myanmar martial arts as an event in the international games and to skillfully use it. It is not just for demonstration. He said he managed to train the Myanmar martial arts in the Tatmadaw as from 2015 and defined it as a main self-defence art in 2017. The Myanmar martial arts is a must in the Tatmadaw training depots. Uniformed rules and techniques should be applied

for the compactness of martial arts. The Tatmadaw will continue to assist the Myanmar Martial Arts Federation. The sports competitions of the Tatmadaw aim to support the sports of the country. The Tatmadaw expressed thanks to the Myanmar Martial Arts Federation for its assistances to put the Myanmar martial arts as a sport in the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) sports competitions.

Officials and senior teachers of the Myanmar Martial Arts Federation expressed delight as the meeting with the senior leaders of the Tatmadaw is the first time and said that they were thankful for the efforts of the Tatmadaw to develop the Myanmar martial arts. They then said they were making efforts to put the Myanmar martial arts in the international sports competitions and would continue to join hands with the Tatmadaw for the development of the Myanmar martial
arts.

The Senior General presented gifts to the officials and senior teachers of the Myanmar Martial Arts Federation and cordially greeted to them.
