Central Command team wins trophy in 58th Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services’ Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Football Tournament 

Nay Pyi Taw, january 13 

The final match of 58th Commander-in-Chief of Defence Ser-vices’ Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Football Tournament was held at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw this evening. The football team of Yangon Command played against the football team of the Central Command. 

Before the match started, Myawady Band of the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare entertained the spectators with music. 

Being the teams in the final match had played against other teams during the tournament, the two teams possessed similar skills and gained opportunities to score goals. At 81 minute, midfielder Ye Wai Yan Soe of the Central Command Team scored the winning goal and the Central Command Team won over the Yangon Command Team deservedly with 1-0. 

Present were Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Union Ministers and their wives, the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and wife, senior trainees officer from the National Defence College, officers, other ranks and families from departments and offices of the Office of the Commander-in Chief (Army, Navy and Air) and officers and other ranks and families from stations under Nay Pyi Taw Command, trainees from the Tatmadaw Foot-ball Academy, guests and sport enthusiasts. 

At the prize presentation ceremony, Adjutant General Lt-Gen Myo Zaw Thein presented trophies and cash awards for fairplay awards to North-East Command team in the B class event and Yangon Command team in the A class event, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, cash awards and individual medals for third prizes to players from North-East Command team in the B class event and the Office of Camp Commandant team under the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) in the A class event, and Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, cash awards and individual medals for second prizes to those from Nay Pyi Taw Command team (B) in the B class event and Yangon Command team in the A class event respectively. 

Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo handed individual trophies and cash awards to best player award winners in respective places in the B class event, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen 
Ye Aung, those from the A class event, Union Minister for Defence Lt-Gen Sein Win, individual medals to players from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Air) team which won the first prize in the B class event and Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe, individual medals to players from Central Command team which stood first in the A class event respectively. 

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win gave championship trophy, duplicate trophy and cash awards to the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Air) team which secured the first prize in the B class event. 

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented championship trophy, duplicate trophy and cash awards to Central Command team for winning the first prize in the A class event of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Football Tournament. 

The 58th Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services’ Trophy Tat-madaw (Army, Navy and Air) Football Tournament was divided into events of A and B classes. The first round matches took place at respective zones of military commands. The second round knockout matches and finals were held with participation of eight teams each in A and B class events at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw as of 27 December 2019. The tournament came to an end successfully today.
