Build standard army capable of fighting conventional war to turn out Tatmadaw with high defence power on which State and people can rely

When it comes to military operation, soldiers need to practise the military skills they have been taught and they must be able to fight battles in both conventional warfare and internal armed conflicts. Standard Army capable of fighting conventional war must be built to turn out the Tatmadaw with high defence power on which the State and the people can rely, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at a meeting with officers from the local military division headquarters, battalions and units in Kalaw Station in Shan State (South), this morning.

The Senior General, accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and Commander of Eastern Command Maj-Gen Lin Aung, arrived at the local military division headquarters in Kalaw. Commander of the local military division headquarters Col Aung Min Oo reported on the objectives of the headquarters, implementation of three defence powers and military building tasks. The Senior General gave necessary instructions.

Regarding the improvement of State defence power, the Senior General said every Tatmadaw member joined the Tatmadaw without any persuasion. They must try to improve their human resources, fire power and morality to sharpen their defence skills. The military skills taught at the training school must be fully employed in  practical field, while military tactics compatible with battle ground must be adopted with own initiative. Regarding the military operations, they have to strictly apply military technologies with capabilities to combat in the conventional war or internal armed conflicts. All must try hard to become the Tatmadaw on which the people and the State rely. They have to undertake organizing and grouping in accordance with the present political system.

In connection with building the Standard Army with capabilities to conduct conventional operations, the Senior General said the present Tatmadaw was formed with the aim of combating internal insurgency depending on the conditions of the State. According to the geopolitical trend and advancement of military strategies and tactics, it is necessary to focus on reforms in order to shape the Standard Army on which the people and the State rely, meeting standards of conducting conventional operations with high defence capability.

To have mental strengthening, every serviceman must improve themselves and have self-control with good obedience under the military disciplines. All Tatmadaw members are arranged to participate in five sports events namely football, volleyball, shooting, boxing and track & field without fail in unison with organizational spirit to develop mental health and strength. Training must be given to all servicemen to have mental health and strength.

With regard to ensuring individual high personality of servicemen, the training courses being conducted in conformity with their ranks and positions aim to uplift individual prowess of servicemen for discharging their duties skillfully. They must try hard to attend every training course with efforts, disciplines and obedience. Moreover, it needs to practise good lifestyle for having good health conditions. Only when they are in good health, will they dutifully serve their assigned tasks.

As such, they need to control their lifestyle and food with conscientiousness. They must abide by  four  appropriateness such as going to places that they should do so, associating with people whom they should do so, doing what they should and saying words that should do so. They all must work in concert to build the Tatmadaw with efficiency and combat capability, on which the people and the State rely.
