Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets staff of Myanmar embassy,officers, other ranks, families of office of military attaché to Laos

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently in Laos to pay a goodwill visit, accompanied by his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Lt-Gen Than Tun Oo of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and senior military officers, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army,Navy and Air) Col Kyaw Kyaw Min and officials,arrived at the Myanmar Embassy to Laos in Vientiane in the evening of 10 October and was welcomed by Myanmar Ambassador to Laos U Ko Ko Naing and embassy staff,officers, other ranks and families of the Office of the Military Attaché and officer trainees.

The Senior General signed the visitors’ book of the embassy. The ambassador introduced staff of the embassy and the office of the military attaché and officer trainees to the Senior General individually and reported on functions and work processes of the embassy and improvement of bilateral relations between Myanmar and Laos.

In his speech, the Senior General said Myanmar and Laos are good neighbours,and leaders of both countries have been cementing relations since yore. Moreover,the Senior General said both the countries which joined the ASEAN simultaneously support each other. The two countries have common culture and traditions. The Senior General urged those present, on their part,to strive not only for enhancing relations and cooperation between both countries but also for joining hands in economic and trade tasks. The service personnel representing the State and the Tatmadaw need to work in concert and unity through family spirit.

Next, the Senior General presented foodstuffs and gifts for families of the embassy and the office of the military attaché and officer trainees to the ambassador and wife,the military attaché and wife, embassy staff,officers, other ranks and families, and officer trainees. Later, the Senior General and wife together with delegation members were served with dinner by embassy families.
