Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, accompanied by SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo and wife and council members and their wives, the Shan State chief minister, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and officials, inspected the development tasks in Loimwe area in Shan State (East) this morning.
First, the Senior General and party arrived at the project site of the upgrading of Kengtung-Loimwe road being carried out by the Road Management Department Shan State (East) and heard reports on salient points of the project, implementation of the instructions of the Senior General given during the visit in February, 2022 to the area, tasks carried out in each fiscal year and future tasks reported by responsible officials before giving instructions on durability of the road in the upgrading tasks and others.
Then, the Senior General and party proceeded to the Loimwe Lake and heard reports on water supply for Loimwe area by using the solar system and the piping of water from natural springs submitted by responsible officials. After hearing the reports, the Senior General pointed out the needs to water security in Kengtung and Loimwe areas, conservation of forests in watershed areas of the lake, implementation of the highland farming system as shift farming causes deforestation and field trips of experts for piping from natural springs.
Then, the Senior General and party arrived at the 107-year long people’s station hospital and welcomed by Superintendent Dr. Thanda Win and officials. The Senior General and party inspected the hospital and gave instructions on the upgrading of the hospital to responsible officials.
Afterward, the Senior General and party visited the historic 100-year old villa and viewed the documentary photographs of the history of Loimwe and its landmarks displayed in the villa. Then, the Senior General and party inspected the maintenance works of the villa and gave necessary instructions on conservation of the villa and its furniture in their original styles and others.
Then, the Senior General and wife and party arrived at the Saturattha Sumingala Pagoda in Loimwe hill resort. Afterward, the Senior General and party paid homage to and offered flowers, water and lights to the Buddha image of the pagoda. Afterward, the Senior General and wife and party paid obeisance to the Buddha image in the prayer hall of the pagoda.
Then, the Senior General and wife paid obeisance to hill missionary Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vepula and donated cash to the Sayadaw before walking round the pagoda clockwise and giving instruction on renovation of the pagoda for its durability.
