Senior General Min Aung Hlaing receives Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Hong Liang at the parlour of Bayintnaung villa here this afternoon.

Also present at the call together with the Senior General was Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The Chinese Ambassador was accompanied by embassy officials.

They cordially discussed the task of repatriation of the Bengalis from Buthidaung-Maungtaw region in northern Rakhine State fleeing to Bangladesh in accordance with the bilateral agreements between Myanmar and Bangladesh, China’s firm and correct stance at the UN and in the international community, the necessity to win the trust of Rakhine people in accepting international aid for Rakhine State development, ongoing cooperation between the two armed forces and border forces of Myanmar and Bangladesh to prevent further attack of ARSA extremist Bengali terrorists, visits of foreign diplomats and news media to cover news to ensure the international community know true situations in Rakhine State and spreading of fake news by some media, Tatmadaw’s efforts to achieve perpetual peace and bilateral cooperation between the two armed forces of Myanmar and China.

After the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador presented a gift to the Senior General and they had a documentary photo taken.
