In his supplementary speech, the Senior General said he welcomed Hluttaw representatives attending the forum. The government in office was able to hold a genuine and free and fair and clean multi-party democracy general election. The election had over 54.22 voter turnout, during which people actively went to the polls. It is a pleasure for all that the MPs elected through genuine election results truly represent the people.
All must take into account means to develop the national economy. In accord with the saying, “Only if all basic needs are met can the people observe morality”, needs of socio-economic life must be fulfilled. In addition, democracy must be maintained.
The world has many different kinds of administrative systems, as countries exercise different ones, including the multi-party system, the single party system, the two-party system. Myanmar is practicinga multi-party democracy system, aspired by the people, and it is also a Union system based on democracy and federalism. All must be aware of the fact that the federal system the country is exercising is not based on individuals or ethnic groups, but on locality.
MPs should base their work on facts of the 2024 population and housing census in shaping the future. All must carry out their essential duty of education promotion in all seriousness.
The government is prioritizing the rural development under-takings, which call for agricultural technicians, apart from its education promotion programs. It is also implementing programs that disseminate mechanical, agriculture and livestock science to students attending basic education high school classes. In the coming year, the subjects will also be taught to middle school students.
The history stands witness to the country’s high standard of literature, fine arts, and social systems of the past. But the country was weak in preserving, protecting and relaying them due to wars, alien invasions, and wars that broke out through internal disagreements throughout the past successive eras.
When the country fell under colonialism and lost its independence, it saw the schemes to weaken the education sector. After regaining independence, peace and stability broke down as a result of internal armed strife, and finally, the education sector was harmed.
MPs must be aware of the essentiality of education promotion as schools are the only places that can bring about a large number of intellectuals and technicians. Generally, remote areas and areas where peace and stability are absent are weak in education. A study of the areas where peace and stability are ruined shows that conflicts bork out in the areas as reasoning power is low due to individual weakness in education.
The country arrived at the present situation due to the occurrence of vote rigging at 2020 multi-party democracy general election. Hence, the current government made preparations to compile the voter list correctly and to hold a free and fair election. Hence, it could hold an honourable and free and fair election that produced MPs elected through the clean votes.
As the country’s main economy is based on agriculture and livestock, the establishment of an agrobased industry has become essential. The government is providing support for technological development of the country to catch up with the current age’s speed of development. The country needs to grow and produce more industrial crops to support the work to set up the agro-based industry. Cotton crops can be used in manufacturing cotton, fibers and textiles, providing much support for industries. As- the country is rich in forest resources, it can produce bamboo pulps and other value-added goods from bamboo.
In addition, MSMEs should manufacture import-substitute goods and exports, apart from foodstuff, as it may help reduce foreign exchange spending and increase FE income for the country. An increase in export earnings will help develop the national economy. So, collective efforts must be made to improve the quality of goods and increase of the quantity of quality goods.
All the people in the country must make actual efforts for national economic development. Consumers, on their part, should see the difference bet-ween necessary spending and wasting, and every individual should exercise prudency, and this practice will reduce State’s financial spending and support national economic development to a large degree. The country is still in the course of rising up from the ruins caused by a natural disaster. So, all must be the ones who are really working for national development. The role of youths and women is recognized in the endeavours for progress of the future nation. As the current forum is important and meaningful for the future of the country, all should seriously take part in it.
The Senior General presented commemorative gifts to foreign experts who would take part in the forum. They then extended greetings.
Then artists staged an entertainment program, singing the song “the dawn has come”. The Senior General and attendees posed for group documentary photos.
After the ceremony, the Senior General and attendees looked around the forum commemorative exhibition with keen interest.
Held with four objectives, The Dawn of a New State (Trust, Stability & Development) continues till 14 March, with the participation of local and foreign resource persons.
