Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation leaves for Japan on goodwill visit

A Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing left Yangon International Airport this morning to make a goodwill visit to Japan at the invitation of Chief of Staff, Joint Staff of the Japan Self -Defence Forces General Koji YAMASAKI.

The Tatmadaw delegation was seen off at the airport by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Thet Pon, Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Ichiro MARUYAMA, Military Attaché Col. TAKASHI KOMATSU and officials.

The Senior General is accompanied by Lt-Gen Nyo Saw, Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army).

The Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation arrived at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan in the evening and they were welcomed by Myanmar Ambassador to Japan U Myint Thu, Colonel ISHIWATA of Japan Defence Ministry, President of Nippon Foundation Mr. Yohei SASAKAWA, President of Japan-Myanmar Friendship Association Mr. Hideo WATANABE, and Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Col Tin Soe and officials at the airport.

During the visit, the Tatmadaw delegation will meet officials from the Japanese government and the Chief of Staff, Joint Staff of the Japan Self-Defence Forces to discuss the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two armed forces and visit industries in Japan.
