Senior General Min Aung Hlaing receives Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Myanmar

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Myanmar H.E.Mr. Lee Sang-hwa at the Parlour of Bayintnaung Villa, here, this morning.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army). The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea was accompanied by Korean Military Attaché to Myanmar Colonel Hwang Sandeok.

The meeting focused on lasting of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and the Republic of Korea as good and old friendship countries for 45 years with same histories, progress of ROK in cooperating in all sectors of ASEAN countries,the plan of Myanmar to accept it in accordance with the ASEAN policy, important situations of ASEAN to cooperate with Asian countries, efforts of the Tatmadaw for ending internal armed conflicts in Myanmar, importance of unity for every country as strength of the nation lies within, reunification of two Korean countries and needs of the whole world including Korean peninsula to be free from nuclear and mass destruction weapons, investment and economic cooperation of the Republic of Korea for development of Myanmar, prospects to increase these activities, enhancement of relations between the two armed forces of both countries,and cooperation in technological and training affairs.

After the meeting, the Senior General and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea exchanged commemorative gifts.
