Chairman of State Administration Council Senior General Min Aung Hlaing addresses coordination meeting of the council

The State Administration Council held the coordination meeting at the office of the Chairman of the State Administration Council, here, this morning, with an address delivered by Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Vice Chairman of the Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Council members General Mya Tun Oo, Admiral Tin Aung San, General Maung Maung Kyaw, Lieutenant-General Moe Myint Tun, Mahn Nyein Maung, U Thein Nyunt, U Khin Maung Swe, Daw Aye Nu Sein, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, U Moung Har, U Sai Lone Saing and Saw Denial, Secretary Lieutenant-General Aung Lin Dway and Joint Secretary Lieutenant-General Ye Win Oo.

In his speech, the Senior General said officials responsible for peace and stability of the State, rule of law and security of life and property of the people are softly handling their tasks. Since assuming the duty, the State Administration Council has not changed the path of multi-party democracy. All tasks are being carried out in accord with the Constitution (2008). No policies were changed in politics, administration, economic, social affairs, peace and international relations. Present situations emerged due to voting list fraud from the election. Currently, the council cooperates with public admirable and esteemed persons in regions and states, districts and townships. The Senior General expressed his concept emphasizing the civilian administration.Action will be taken for the voting list frauds of the election under the electoral law. When the state of emergency ends, the disciplined election with full essence will be held. During the period of the state of emergency, the council will place emphasis on food, clothing and shelter of the people, and peace and stability. Likewise, priority will be given to ensuring rule of law and peace process. Only when the whole country is peaceful and stable, will it serve the interests of individuals.

Now, efforts are being made to recover the economy that was hit by COVID-19. The public vaccination program cannot be postponed.  The government will continue the program. As regards the CDM of civil servants, it is taking a great deal of patience. As for the doctors, the failure to serve duties at hospitals and clinics for public health amounts to violating their oath. Hence, people have to visit the private hospitals and clinics, where the cost of treatment is high, for emergency health cases. As such necessary action will be taken against them.  Human life is important, so private businesspersons are permitted to import COVID-19 vaccines under the approval of Department of Food and Drug Administration to vaccinate the public at private hospitals and clinics.

Transport facilitation is a requisite of the economic sector. Hence, arrangements are underway for ensuring regular railway, road, air and water transport services. Security assistance is being provided to protect the banking services as they are of vital importance for normal currency circulation.

At present, members of security forces are shouldering their duties in a very difficult situation and they are controlling the disturbances only under self-defence procedures and internationally accepted rules. Formerly, there are international criticisms against the government procedures. But now, expect from countries of the West, others are suggesting the use of democracy means in solving the problem which is just the country’s internal affairs. The government is now checking the voting irregularities and will announce the findings internally and internationally. The government is working with sincerity in accord with the democracy. Members of the council are urged to render full cooperation.

Next, the vice chairman and members of the State Administration Council reported on the exposition of and taking of action against those resorting to various ways to commit national treason and destroy the country by inciting violence in the effort for the emergence of multi-party democracy, appointing of foreign advisers, release of correct news through the Press Council, awarding of dutiful service personnel and taking of action against the staff who violate the civil service rules and disciplines, generation of hydropower for cost effectiveness, taking of action against the formation of a parallel government that can harm State peace and stability, systematic inspections at the checkpoints in townships, wards and villages, return of displaced people to their homes, continuation of the internal peace process, ongoing incitements to causing chaos to destabilize the regions and states and security, the operation of trains and cars and water and air routes for smooth and quick commodity flow and extended operations.

Then, the chairman of the State Administration Council said in a recent amnesty, punishments of the prisoners were reduced as much as possible, except those with heavy sentences. They were granted the amnesty so that they could live outside in accord with the democratic norms and peacefully without losing their rights. Regarding that matter, there were attempts to cause misunderstanding among the people through fake news. The Press Council has been recognized as the fourth estate. News should be released in a correct and speedy manner. Plans being made to award the dutiful service personnel. But, action will be taken against those violating the civil service rules and disciplines. Officials concerned have been instructed to continue the implementation of the ongoing projects for electricity generation. In future, focus will be placed on using renewable energy in producing electricity.

 Preparations are already in place for the return of internally displaced people and mine clearance. Committees at various levels are being formed to implement the peace process with added momentum. The Tatmadaw will try to build an eternal Union. The security forces have been instructed to deal with the instability issues in line with the law. Patrol teams comprised of members of  the Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Force and Fire Brigade were formed to patrol the streets starting from 14 February for community peace and stability. Council members represent the country regardless of where they come from. So, they must work for State peace, stability and development, the Senior General urged.100
