Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presents award at 2022 Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) sports meet

Prize-presentation ceremony of 2022 Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) sports meet was held at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Sports Ground here this evening. Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony and presented prizes to winners.

Present together with the Senior General were his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Union ministers and their wives, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander and wife, officers, other ranks and families of Office of the Commander-in- Chief (Army, Navy and Air), officer trainees of National De fence College, officers, other ranks and families of battalions/ units under the Nay Pyi Taw Command, members of Nay Pyi Taw War Veterans Organization, trainees of Tatmadaw Football Academy, invited guests and athletes.

Central Command team and Yangon Command team met in the final of A level 2022 59thDefence Services Commander-in-Chief ’s Trophy football tournament.

The two finalists play a thrilling match launching attacks and counterattacks. Because of weakness in goalmouth action and brilliant safes of goalkeepers of both teams, both teams could not score goals in the normal playing time. Yangon Command scored the winning goal in the first six minutes of the extra time. The Central Command’s efforts to score an equalizer were in vain. Yangon Command won the match with 1-0 result.

Together with the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) military band flag bearer troops led by parade commander, members of 17 sports teams and six prize winner football teams took positions in the sports ground.

At the prize-presentation ceremony, Quartermaster–General Lt-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin presented prizes, cash awards and individual medals to North- East Command team for fairplay award in B level match and Eastern Command in fair-play award in A level, and to No 99 Light Infantry Division for third prize in B level.

Chairman of Tatmadaw Sports and Physical Education Administrative Committee Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo presented cash awards and individual medals to position-wise best player winners in B level, best player of the tournament, and Northern Commander team that won the third place in A level.

Lt-Gen Than Tun Oo of the Office of the Commander-in- Chief (Army) presented cash awards and individual medals to position-wise best players and the best player of the tournament in A level and South-East Commander team that won the second place in B level.

Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung presented cash awards and individual medals to Central Command team runner-up in the A level, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung to North-East Command team champion of the B level, and Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye to champion Yangon Commander in the A level.

Vice-Senior General Soe Win presented first-prize trophies and additional trophies and cash awards to B level champion North-East Command team and A level champion Yangon Command team.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented the Defence Services Commander-in-Chief’s championship trophy of the sports meet to Tatmadaw(Navy) team that stood first in the medal standings with 50 gold medals, 35 silver medals and 37 bronze medals, totaling 122 to the administrator and athletes.

After the conclusion of the ceremony Flag Bearer Troops led by parade commander, 17 sports teams and military band representing Tatmadaw (Army,

Navy and Air) left the ground in a military column waving their hands, and the Senior General and wife and attendees waved at them.

While they were leaving the ground, fireworks were set off to mark the successful conclusion of the football match and sports meet.
