Senior General Min Aung Hlaing receives Commander-in-Chief of Royal Thai Navy

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Admiral Naris Phatoomsuwan, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy who is on a goodwill tour of Myanmar at the invitation of Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, at Zeyathiri parlour here this evening.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Admiral Tin Aung San, Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief. Admiral Naris Phatoomsuwan was accompanied by senior military officers of the Royal Thai Navy and Thai Naval Attaché Captain Puchong Praditteera.

At the call, the Senior General said Myanmar and Thailand are good neighbours, as the two countries share a common sea border. Bilateral cooperation is of vital importance. Then, discussions were centred on exchange of rank-wise official visits and port calls by naval ships of both countries to promote bilateral naval cooperation, security cooperation in the territorial waters of both countries, promotion of relations between the two armed forces through the exchange of sports contingents and cultural troupes, and exchange of trainees.

After the call, the Senior General and the Thai Admiral exchanged souvenirs and posed for group documentary photo.
