Chairman of the State Admini-stration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who attended the military parade to mark the 80th Anniver-sary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 of the Russian Federation held a meeting with President of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Xi Jinping at the Beijing Hall of Soluex Hotel Moscow this evening.
Also, present at the meeting were Council Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Council members General Maung Maung Aye, Dr. Ba Shwe and Khun San Lwin, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers, the Myanmar Ambass-ador to the Russian Federation, and officials. The President of PRC was accompanied member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Commi-ttee of the Chinese Communist Party, member of the Secretariat of the Chinese Community Party, Head of the Central Com-mittee of the Communist Party of China Mr. Cai Qi, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Head of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Wang Yi, ministers and senior officers of China, the Chinese Ambassador to Russia and officials.
At the meeting, President of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Xi Jinping expressed his deep condolences to the govern-ment and people of Myanmar for the damage and losses caused by the recent major earthquake in Mandalay, Myanmar. He stated that he firmly believes the government and people of Myanmar will work hand in hand to carry out reconstruction and recovery efforts effectively. He also affirmed that China will provide necessary assistance as needed. He noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of China-Myanmar relations and reaffirmed China’s consistent support for Myanmar’s deve-lopment, sovereignty, and stabi-lity. Furthermore, he pledged continued Chinese assistance in Myanmar’s development and peace-building efforts.
During his remarks, the Se-nior General stated that at a time when Myanmar is facing difficulties due to the natural disaster of an earthquake, China, as a friendly nation, has expres-sed its condolences to the people of Myanmar and offered prayers for a swift recovery. He noted that during the critical Golden Hour following the earth-quake, Chinese rescue teams arrived in Myanmar within 18 hours, providing essential disa-ster relief assistance. Additionally, the Chinese government has extended emergency hu-manitarian aid to Myanmar. The people and government of Myanmar will always remain grateful for China’s support. As reconstruction efforts will require long-term commitment, Myanmar requested China’s continued assistance.
The Senior General also ex-pressed gratitude for China’s support for Myanmar’s position in regional and international forums. He further mentioned that Myanmar is making pre-parations to successfully hold a multi-party democratic general election by the end of this year and is arranging to invite inter-national observers. Myanmar supports China’s efforts to build a shared future community with neighbouring nations, fostering mutual prosperity and laying new foundations for regional cooperation. Today’s meeting will greatly contribute to stre-ngthening bilateral relations and cooperation, and he expressed confidence that the two countries will continue to work closely together.
The President of China stated that his country adheres to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence in international rela-tions. He reaffirmed China’s support for Myanmar in regional and international affairs and expressed backing for Myan-mar’s preparations for the up-coming multi-party democratic elections.
Following this, the Senior General and the President of China held cordial discussions on enhancing bilateral relations, promoting cooperation across various sectors, strengthening fraternal ties, building a shared community, and collaborating on regional peace and stability matters.
After the meeting, the Se-nior General and the Chinese President warmly greeted each other.
