Chairman of the State Admini-stration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, entourage members, Yangon Region Chief Minister, Yangon Command Commander, and responsible officials, inspected the ongoing implementation of the Shwepyi Agriculture and Livestock Zone in Hmawbi Township, Yangon Region, this afternoon.
First, at the Agriculture and Livestock Zone briefing hall, the responsible official of the Shwepyi Agriculture and Livestock Zone presented up-dates on the progress of the zone’s development, including current operations and future expansion plans for layer poultry farming, pig breeding and pork production activities, pro-duction of hybrid corn seed varieties, construction of an animal feed mixing factory, and efforts to increase high-yield corn seed cultivation.
Following the presentation, the Senior General emphasized the need for systematic management to ensure that meat, fish, eggs, and vegetables produced in the agriculture and livestock zone are efficiently supplied to the market. He noted that the establishment of such zones in Yangon Region aims to meet the daily food demands of its over 7 million residents.He stressed the importance of accurately calculating daily meat consumption needs and ensuring that production in each zone meets demand. If basic food commodities are sufficiently produced within the region, it will help reduce high market prices.The Senior General highlighted that balancing production and consumption of meat, fish, and eggs is essential to maintaining reasonable prices. Similarly, efforts must be made to increase fruit and vegetable cultivation within the region to ensure affordability for Yangon’s residents. It is also necessary to boost the cultivation of enough kitchen crops. He emphasized the need to further develop live-stock and agricultural businesses in Yangon Region so that residents can purchase and consume goods at reasonable prices. It is essential to quickly distribute meat, fish, eggs, and vegetables produced by these farming and livestock operations to consumers thr-ough efficient market channels. These efforts aim to ensure that the people of Yangon Region have abundant and affordable access to food. Additionally, in carrying out agricultural and livestock activities, the primary focus must be on improving productivity and enhancing output quality.
Afterwards, the Senior General reviewed a miniature layout of the Shwepyi Agriculture and Livestock Zone and discussed necessary measures for further development.
Later, the Senior General and party toured the zone, inspecting pig breeding operations with cooling systems, and fully automated layer poultry farming.
The Senior General then provided further guidance based on reports from responsible officials.
