Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Head of Buryatia Mr. Aleksey Sambuyevich Tsydenov answer questions of the local media including Arigus, ATV and Tivicom

Q:   Recent years saw a lot of activities in Russian-Myanmar cooperation. Especially in the cultural and other multi-sectors. These activities also encompass cooperation with Buryatia. What is the future cooperation program between Buryatia and Myanmar?

Senior General:  Today I visited a locomotive and carriage repair plant, and earlier, I was at the airplane assembling plant, and the two are included in the potential areas of bilateral cooperation. In addition, Buryatia has people of the Buddhist Faith. As Myanmar is a Buddhist country, we two have prospects for religious cooperation. There are also the health issues and the Prime Minister’s overture for educational programs. So, there may be cooperation in the education sector. And then, we will have talks on agricultural undertakings. I would say that we have a wide range of areas and actions.

Q: Mr. Prime Minister, as you are visiting Buryatia, what is Your Excellency’s view of Buryatia? Anything to say about the beauty and cleanliness of the land?

Senior General: It’s a great pleasure as the land is indeed serene and beautiful. I feel like I was in an environment that is close to Myanmar. I have been to this place three times, and every time I visited, I felt like I was coming to my native land. I will try to visit the place more.

Q:    As the head of the Buryatia Republic, how do you feel about the friendly visit of the Prime Minister from Myanmar? Additionally, please share your thoughts on cooperation with Myanmar.

Head of Buryatia:  I am deeply honoured and delighted that this is the third visit from Myanmar.  These  repeated  visits demonstrate how much our republic is valued. We look forward to implementing many cooperative initiatives between our republic and Myanmar. In recent years, our Rapid Bio pharmaceutical company has been working on registering to export our pharmaceutical technology to Myanmar. Addi-tionally, helicopters manufactured in Ulan-Ude have been used in Myanmar for many years and continue to be utilized. We are planning further collaborations in transportation, particularly related to helicopters. Today, TMH Holding also presented their products and discussed their operations. We are planning discussions for future collaborations in these areas. In terms of educational cooperation, we aim to provide advanced training in Buryatia for teachers from Myanmar studying the Russian language. We are also working to establish a Myanmar language department at our university in Bur-yatia to teach the Myanmar language. Today, I personally guided our distinguished guests from Myanmar around the lake. Last December, I led a dele-gation to Myanmar, where we were warmly welcomed. I want to emphasize that not only I but the entire delegation experienced the beauty and culture of Myanmar. Therefore, we are planning to promote tourism exchanges between our two nations.

Senior General: I invite your media teams to visit Myanmar and explore the country. The head of your republic has provided a general overview, but when you visit, you will expe-rience even more profound connections and impressions. I am confident that we will soon see your faces in Myanmar.
