The Myanmar Women’s Day 2025 ceremony was held at Thiriyadana Hall of Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation in Dekkhinathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw this morning and Honorary Patron of Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the wife of the Chairman of the State Ad-ministration Council Prime Minister, attended the ceremony.
Also present at the ceremony were Honorary Patrons of the federation Daw Khin Thet Htay and Daw Than Than Nwe, the wife of the SAC secretary, the wife of the SAC joint secretary, wives of SAC members, the wife of the chairman of Constitutional Tribunal of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, union ministers and their wives, the auditor general of the union and the wife of the chairman of the Union Civil Service Board, the wife of the chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, the governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, wives of senior military officers, the wife of the chairman of the Union of Myanmar Economic Holding Public Company, the wife of the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, guests of honour, judges of the Union Supreme Court, female members of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union, deputy ministers and their wives, the deputy auditor general, members of the Union Civil Service Board, members of Anti-corruption Commission, the wife of the chairman of the Revenue Appellate Tribunal, the chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory Women’s Affairs Committee and his wife, permanent secre-taries, director generals, officials from the MWAF and women’s affairs organization, department heads, outstanding women from respective sectors and guests.
First, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered an opening speech through a video message. (The opening speech of the Senior General is published separately.)
Then, Chairman of Myanmar National Committee on Woman Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win clarified the efforts for development of women, promotion of women’s rights and prevention of all forms of violence against women.
Afterward, a video clip depicting the milestones in development of women was screened.
Then, honorary prizes were presented to outstanding women in various sector in 2024 and Honorary Patron of the MWAF Daw Kyu Kyu Hla presented honorary medal, certificate and cash awards to Second Lieutenant Daw Nandar Kyaw of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), who won the best parade award, Second Lieutenant Daw Lapyae Win of the Office of the Commander-in- Chief (Navy), who won the best cadet award, and Captain Daw Shwe Wutyee of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Air), who won honorary award of the Commander-in-Chief (Air).
Then, Honorary Patron Daw Khin Thet Htay presented honorary medals, certificates and cash awards to Police Lance Corporal Lutchmee, who won the outstanding women police award, and outstanding member of the Red Cross Society Daw Lin Lin Htike while Honorary Patron Daw Than Than Nwe presented honorary medals, certificates and cash award to Ma Htet Htet Aye, who won an outstanding athlete award in the 2024 women paralympic sports event and Ma Khin Cherry Thet, who won outstanding award in the 2024 women petanque sports event.
Then, the wife of the SAC secretary presented honorary medals, certificates and cash awards to Daw Cho Cho Maw, who accepted the honorary awards on behalf of national literary prize winner Daw Mya Mya Than and Daw Khin Wutyee while the wife of the SAC joint secretary presented honorary medals, certificates and cash awards to Dr Thin Myo Myo Aung, who won an outstanding award, and Daw Kyay Kyay Zin, who won outstanding women entrepreneur award.
Afterward, wives of SAC members and Union Minister for SWRR Dr Soe Win presented honorary medals, certificates and cash awards to outstanding women entrepreneurs.
Then, Honorary Patron MWAF Daw Kyu Kyu Hla posed for documentary photographs together with the participants and inspected the products manufactured by girls’ school and women organizations under the ministry and displayed in commemoration of the Myanmar Women’s Day 2025.
