Families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and  Air) hold second monsoon tree-planting ceremony for 2025

Families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) and the military command headquarters are holding large-scale monsoon tree planting ceremonies annually since 2011 with the aim of conserving the natural environment, improving the weather, providing shade and supporting the national economy.

The second tree-planting ceremony for 2025 of the families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) was held at a place near Yezin Dam in Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, today. Chair-man of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing participated in the ceremony and planted a teak tree.

Also present at the ceremony were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior  General  Soe Win  and  wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air)and wife, senior military officers from the Office of  the Commander-in-Chief and wives, union level officials and wives, officer trainees of National Defence College, officers, other ranks and families of branches and departments under the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army).

Taking the leading role, the Senior General and wife plant teak tree

First, the Senior General and wife inaugurated the ceremony by planting a treasured teak tree. Afterward, the Vice-Senior General and wife, the Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, officers, other ranks and family members planted trees at designated places. Then, the Senior  General and  wife  and party observed the collective tree-planting activities of officers, other  ranks  and  family members.

A total of 206,025 valuable trees, perennial trees, shady and windbreak trees planted around Yezin Dam from 2011 to 2nd tree-planting ceremony for 2025

At today’s second tree planting ceremony, families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services (Army, Navy and Air) planted 900 valuable teak trees, 600 iron-wood trees, 300 Burmese Padauk and 600 mahogany trees, totaling 2,400 trees. For conservation of the natural environment and ecosystem in the surroundings of Yezin Dam, families  of  the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) held 43 tree-planting ceremonies during the period from 2011 to the  second  tree-planting ceremony in 2025 and planted a total of 206,025 valuable trees, perennial trees and  shady  and  windbreak trees.

Similarly, monsoon tree-planting ceremonies were held in respective military commands and valuable trees, industrial trees, perennial trees and shady and windbreak trees were planted. Today, command commanders and officials of Nay Pyi Taw Command collectively planted 7,388 trees, Northern Command 3,380 trees, Eastern Command 7,881 trees, Eastern Central Command 11,634 trees, Triangle  Region  Command 11,492  trees, South East  Command 10,489 trees, Coastal Region Command 9,742 trees, Yangon Command 19,055 trees, South-West Command 5,480 trees, North-West Command 10,354 trees, Central Command 29,486 trees  and  Southern Command 8,405 trees. A total of 137,186 trees were planted by Families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air), military commands and battalions and units today.
