During the return trip, the Senior General gave answers to the questions of the press. The full text of the interview is as follows:
Beginning 30 August, I attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation – SCO SUMMIT 2025 Plus in Tianjin at the invitation of President of the People’s Republic of China H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping. SCO member states, observer countries and dialogue partners were also present the summit. I could hold bilateral talks with many of the State leaders. On 3 September, I attended the 80th Anniversary ofthe Victory oftheChinese People’sWar of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist. They were excellent events. In fact, they were the venues for cordial discussions on global issues and situation. During my meetings with state leaders, I discussed matters on mutual cooperation based on common interest, and explained the election to be held in Myanmar in the coming December. All the leaders of the states and institutions I met fully understood Myanmar’s situation and expressed support for it. They all were in favour of the election, I have mentioned earlier, to be held in December, and they wished success for it. Recently, I proceeded to Harbin in northeast China and studied agricultural undertakings, electronic and engineering activities. In addition, I went to Chengdu in Sichuan province, my final trip in China visit. Sichuan is a quake-hit province that could effectively conduct rehabilitation undertakings. Officials from the province shared their experience with us. We also discussed agricultural activities and the talks with very encouraging. I held a meeting both in Tianjin and Chengdu with Chinese business representatives and companies. Union ministers of the delegation gave answers to the questions raise by them. I also joined in the talks and provided them with important facts. I would say that there was significant progress in economic cooperation between the two countries based on common interest. We had witnessed China’s all-round prioritization of the AI technology. Whether it was green zone or green revolution, China is giving much priority to greening, and it is a fine example for our country, as we are also realizing the slogan “Let us protect our environment for the prosperity of the Nation.” It is our policy. We are going to drive our country with renewable energy. So, we need more discussions and cooperation in this area, and conduct production activities. Importing goods from China alone is not enough, we also need to export goods to it. So, we must implement the production industry. So, we are striving in accord with the slogan “Let us encourage production for prosperity of the Nation.” We need to work for our country as we can’t stay idle. Another thing is China’s highly advanced technology. I have been there twice, and witnessed the amazing development of China, and they are its realities. We need a lot to catch up with China. We need good education foundation to acquire technological and intellectual knowledge.
We must improve this foundation. We will be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with China only if we have plenty of educated persons and higher education level. A question Chinese people asked is whether they can get human resources if they set up businesses in Myanmar and the occupational regultions. Our law is to work and we need human resources to work with them. Without human resources, it is impossible to join hands with them. So, I want to tell my country to work hard, and for this we need national peace and stability, which calls for all to work with a conviction. We will never change our stand. We will make it.
After the election in December, we will continue our multi-party democracy in accord with the new path chosen by the people. We will never fully enjoy the fruits of progress, if there are disputes and acts that go against the said goal. So, we need peace and stability that can be achieved through political awareness. First, we must try to achieve peace and stability, and then the education. We must actually promote education, and we need to work. Only with all these undertakings we will be able to fully realize the results of the recent visit.
