Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a working visit to the Russian Federation, held talks with State Space Corporation “Roscosmos” Director General Mr. Dmitry V. Bakanov of the Russian Federation at Roscosmo headquarters this morning.
First, the Senior General and delegation arrived at the new headquarters of Roscosmos and were warmly greeted by the Director General of State Space Corporation Roscosmo and officials. Then, the Senior General and delegation observed a replica of a satellite launched into space by Roscosmos in the headquarters and direct communication control room with satellites sent into orbit before inquiring about matters of interest on clarifications of the director general and officials.
Then, the Senior General held talks with the Director General at the meeting hall.
Also present at the meeting were Commission Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Commission Member and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Thit Lin Ohn and official while the Director Gene-ral was accompanied by the Deputy Director General for international relations and officials of Roscosmos.
They frankly exchanged views on promotion of cooperation in space technologies between Myanmar and the Russian Federation, human resources development in space technologies, research and use of outer space with peaceful purposes between the two countries, matters related to launching satellites in the interest of the country and the people and sending trainees for space technologies.
After the discussions, agreements for cooperation in exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes between Myanmar and the Russian Federation were signed by the Roscosmos Director General and Myanmar Space Agency Chief Executive Dr Soe Myint Maung in the presence of the Senior General.
Then, the Senior General, the Director General and the Chief Executive posed for documentary photographs.
Then, the Senior General and the Director General exchanged gifts.
