Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently in the Russian Federation during his working visit, this morning held a meeting with Director General Mr Alexey Likhachev of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM of the Russian Federation at the Radission Collection Hotel in Russia.
Also, present at the meeting were Commission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Commission member and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union ministers U Nyan Tun, U Ko Ko Lwin and Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, and officials. The Director General of ROSATOM was accompanied by Deputy Director General of ROSATOM Mr. Nikolay SPASSKIY and officials.
They discussed perspectives on convening the “World Atomic Week Forum”, and the prospects for continuing to implement agreements between Myanmar and ROSATOM on the peaceful use of nuclear energy, implementation of the national nuclear infrastructure for its development, and improvement of the nuclear technology in Myanmar, cooperation in training and skill improvement to enhance the human resources, and cooperation in peaceful use of nuclear energy.
After the meeting, Director General Mr Alexey Likhachev of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM of the Russian Federation and Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw and Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun signed the agreements on cooperation between the ROSATOM and the two ministries in the presence of the Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
