A ceremony to commence the weaving of Mathoe golden lotus robes for the Tazaungdine festival 2025 at the Maravijaya Buddha Image took place at the fountain square of the Maravijaya Buddha Park, and Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla attend the opening ceremony.


Also present at the ceremony together with the Senior General and his wife were Commis-sion Vice Chairman Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Commis-sion member and Prime Minister U Nyo Saw and his wife, Commission member and Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dway and  his  wife,  Commission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo and his wife, commission members and their wives, Union-level dignitaries, Union ministers and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials, and weaving teams which will participate in the weaving of Mathoe golden lotus robes. These activities were crowded by pilgrims, monks and people.
On arrival at the venue of the ceremony, the Senior General and his wife were warmly welcomed by officials, ethnics from the Myanmar Radio and Television, and cultural troupes from the Department of Fine Arts under the Ministry of  Religious Affairs and Culture.

They all worshiped the Buddha with three-time recitation of Namo Tassa. Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin read the message of “Jaya Mangala”.
The Senior General and his wife cut the ribbon to commence the weaving of Mathoe golden lotus robes for the Tazaungdine festival 2025 at the Maravijaya Buddha Image.
As member of the Maravijaya Buddha Image Board of Trus-tees U Thant Swe launched the activities by beating the Mingala golden gong, weaving teams started their weaving efforts. Meanwhile, artistes from the MRTV, cultural troupes from the Department of Fine Arts under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and artistes from the Myawady Entertainment Troupe under the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare performed the  song “Myaing-Myaing-Hsaing-Hsaing Latazaungdine” with dances. Attendees to the ceremony released small hot-air balloons and lanterns simultaneously.
Moreover, those artistes entertained audiences with choral dances, Ozi and Dobat music and songs.

The Senior General and his wife together with audience interestingly observed weaving process of Mathoe golden lotus robes at 15 looms.


The Senior General, his wife and attendees watched releasing of night hot-air balloons and Sennapan hot-air balloons together with pilgrims and people who visited the Tazaungdine   lighting   festival at   the  Maravijaya  Buddha Image.
The Tazaungdine lighting festival will be held on a grand scale at the Maravijaya Buddha Image Park in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory from 2 to 4 November. During the festival, associations will recite religious verses and offer 9,000 oil lights on the plat-form of the Image while fire-works will be launched and night hot-air balloons and Seinnapan hot-air balloons released dedicating  to  the Lord  Buddha. Moreover, weaving of Mathoe golden lotus robes are carried out to offer them to the Buddha Image. In the precinct of Buddha Park, all structures are illuminated with LED lights. Micro, small and medium sized enterprises (MSME) businesses dis-play and sell domestic products, foodstuffs, personal goods and Myanmar tradition snacks at relevant stalls. In addition, renowned artistes perform song entertainment whereas theatrical troupes present theatrical performances.
