A delegation led by Governor of the Novosibirsk Region of the Russian Federation H.E. Mr. Andrey Aleksandrovich Travnikov paid a courtesy call on Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing this morning.
Also present together with the Senior General were Secretary of the commission Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Member of the commission Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, union ministers U Tin Oo Lwin, U Chit Swe, Dr Chaw Chaw Sein and officials and the governor was accompanied by Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar Mr. Iskander Azizov and members of the government of the region.
During the call, they frankly exchanged views on promotion of cooperation between Myanmar and Novosibirsk, pleasantness of Myanmar with high standards of cultural traditions and grandeur seen by the delegation and discussions with responsible officials during the visit, plans to relay the information about pleasantness and grandeur of Myanmar to Russian citizens after returning to Novosibirsk, continued implementation of outcomes of the discussions, implementation of instructions of Russian Federation President H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin to promote cooperation between Myanmar, the Russian Federation and the Novosibirsk by the regional government, expansion of multi-sectoral cooperation in addition to collaboration in economic, education, health, cultural exchange and promotion of tourism sectors, plans to boost trade between Myanmar, the Russian Federation and the Novosibirsk region by mutually exporting products, arrangements to mutually send cultural delegation between Myanmar and the Russian Federation including the Novosibirsk region, the success of the visit by strengthening bilateral friendship and cooperation between Myanmar, the Russian Federation and the Novosibirsk region, plans to promote bilateral cooperation, efforts to hold a multi-party democracy general election in Myanmar in the near future, measures taken to move forward on the democratic path after holding the election and support of the Russian Federation and the Novosibirsk region for the multi-party democracy general election to be held in Myanmar.
After the discussions, the Senior General and governor exchanged gifts and posed for documentary photographs.
