“Chaldony” State Song and Dance Ensemble of Novosibirsk, Russian Federation staged a variety dance show by the name “The Great Russia and Siberia” at MICC- I in Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon. Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing watched the show.
Also present together with the Senior General were his wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, SSPC member Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, SSPC Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo and wife, SSPC members and wives, union level dignitaries, union ministers and wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, delegation members led by Governor of Novosibirsk H.E. Mr. Andrey Aleksandrovich Travnikov, departmental personnel and officials.
First the state anthems of the two nations were turned on to inaugurate the variety dance show.
In his greetings, the Senior General warmly welcomed all members of the “Chaldony” State Song and Dance Ensemble, a famous troupe from Novosibirsk.
He said it is a meaningful afternoon and an auspicious time for further enhancement of friendship and cultural cooperation between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Russian Federation. The two countries established diplomatic relations based on mutual respect, understanding and cooperation in multi sectors including culture, education and arts sectors over 77 years ago.
The two have already set up firm relations in various fields including defence, education, science, technology, health and culture sectors through mutual respect, understanding and cooperation for many decades. Multisector cooperation between Novosibirsk and Myanmar will be further cemented.
“Excellency, I have invited you to visit Myanmar at a meeting with you during my visit to Russia in March 2025”, said the Senior General, expressing belief that Novosibirsk governor has already seen the natural beauties and cultural heritage of Myanmar with his own eyes.
He said through the “Chaldony” State Song and Dance Ensemble included in the delegation from Novosibirsk, Myanmar people can enjoy the essence of the art of Novosibirsk area and Siberian culture, and in addition, the show will help reconfirm the strong bonds of love between the two peoples.
Art expresses the culture and soul of the people. Art overcomes all barriers and unites humanity through love and sharing of the understanding of beauty, harmony and peace. Hence, today’s show is not just an exchange of culture and an entertainment program, but would be very supportive of the warm and cordial relations between the two countries.
In this regard, it should be an auspicious moment full of music, love and joy. The variety dance show has further reinforced the passion for bilateral cooperation and cordial times. The Senior General then prayed for further strengthening of good relations between Myanmar and Russia and between Novosibirsk till the coming generations.
In his greetings, the Novosibirsk governor expressed sin-cere thanks as he could visit the beautiful country, Myanmar, due the invitation extended to him by Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. He again expressed thanks for the hospitality toward them, the Siberians, and interest in their culture and arts. Myanmar’s richness in the deeply rooted cultural heritage is obvious and astonishing and also reveals the honesty and openness of Myanmar people. Peoples of over 100 different kinds of ethni-city are living in the territory of Russian Federation, but they all are united under the same history and same destiny.
The term “Chaldony” has deep relations with the nation’s history, and represents ancient Siberians, Russians and the first conquerors of Siberia. The Ensemble seriously preserves tradition, culture and customs and represents the essence of songs and musical heritage of Siberia. It will proudly stage its performances in Myanmar, he said, praying for all to be familiar with Siberian culture and arts through the highest degree of enjoyment.
The Senior General and wife and attendees enjoyed the performance of the artists of the “Chaldony” State Song and Dance Ensemble and Fine Arts Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
The Ensemble staged Russian traditional songs and Siberian music and songs harmoniously based on rich classic styles and traditional styles through elegant movements. After presenting the song “Bread is everything”, artists of the Ensemble served the Senior General and wife with bread and salt in accord with Russian tradition, as an expression of thanks for the hospitality and friendship and to share the joys.
After the show, the Senior General and wife presented flower baskets to artists of the Ensemble, and the Novosibirsk governor, to the artists of Fine Arts Department.
Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the governor exchanged commemorative cultural gifts.
Artists of the Ensemble entertained the audience with the song “Lattee”, a special creation for the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and the show came to a conclusion.
